Chapter 16

-Unlikely.-

"A pregnancy for you is very.. unlikely, Ms. Calder." Dr. Thomas, my doctor said as he wrote things down in his clipboard.

I nodded.

"I'll go fetch your results now." He announced as he exited the room.

My eyes glanced over at Perrie and Danielle. They were seated in the two chairs that were in the small hospital room. A nervous sigh escaped my lips.

"How are you, babe?" Perrie asked and stood up, walking over to me.

I shrugged. How was I supposed to be? I had taken four pregnancy test. Three of them were negative, only one was positive. That's why we were here. I wanted to be one hundred percent sure. So we came to my doctor and he was supposed to tell me if I was suffering from a disease or if I was pregnant. So it was basically a lose-lose situation.

My ringtone filled the quiet room. I glanced at it and saw it was Louis.. again. He has been calling me for a while now, but I couldn't bring myself to answer it.

"It'll be okay.." Perrie whispered and hugged me, that just caused me to break down.

"I-It's all bad, Perrie!" I stuttered.

I hugged her tightly as I cried. If I had a disease, I'd have to take all sorts of treatments and Louis would probably leave the boys to come home and that would just hurt his career. And if I was pregnant, Louis would freak out and try to come home to be with me. So either way, I was going to ruin Louis' tour.

Danielle was by our side now, her hand rubbing my back. "It's okay, Eleanor. Hey, maybe if you are pregnant, we can go shopping and buy all sorts of clothes for the baby. How's that sound?" She asked, empathy clear in her tone.

"How is that supposed to help me?!" I sobbed out, my cries only becoming heavier. I knew she was trying to help, but that just wasn't what I wanted to hear.

It wasn't until the doctor came into the room that Perrie stepped away from me. The doctor's face was filled with an emotion I couldn't quite grasp. He read over his clipboard before speaking.

"Ms. Calder, you'll be happy to know that you are perfectly healthy."

Oh no. That just meant one thing.

"You are, however, four months pregnant." He spoke with a soft smile. "Congratulations."

My heart sank. I felt like I wasn't able to breathe. My eyes shut tightly. It was like I was in such shock that I couldn't even cry.

"Four months?" Danielle asked. "But she spotted two months ago."

"Right you are. But that's perfectly normal for a pregnancy. Now, Ms. Calder, you are far along enough to know the gender of the baby. Would you like to have a sonogram done?"

I shook my head quickly. I held my hand out for Danielle and she took it almost instantly. She helped me off of the bed and held me still. I used my free hand to rub my eyes. I looked up at the doctor and thanked him before walking towards the door.

"I'm sorry, she just- thank you." I heard Perrie say before she was at my side.

We walked out of the hospital and got into Danielle's car. The car ride was silent, except for my soft cries. It wasn't until we were sat on my couch that I began to have a full on break down.

"What am I going to tell Louis?! He doesn't want a baby yet!" I cried out and covered my face with my hands.

"El, I know Louis well enough to know he loves being around kids." Danielle spoke soothingly.

"Yeah, it doesn't take a brainiac. He might not be ready, but he won't be upset." Perrie said, using the same tone Danielle did.

"H-He said that- t-the tour-" I stuttered, not making clear sense.

"Babe, just relax, okay?" Perrie said as she stood up. "I've gotta go now. I have some packing to do." She rubbed my thigh as she tried to comfort me. "Don't stress about it."

I nodded and sat up to give her a hug before she left.

"Thank you." I mumbled with a sniffle.

"Don't mention it. I'll talk to you soon." She called out before I heard her leave.

"Speaking of Louis." Danielle whispered and reached over to grab my phone from the coffee table. "Call him. He's been calling all day. You probably have him worried sick."

I nodded and took my phone, my hands were shaking.

"Are you okay on your own?" She asked and grabbed her stuff.

I nodded, reaching up to hug her as well. "I'm okay. I-I'll call you if anything."

"Alright. Be safe.. I'll call you later." She said with a soft smile before walking towards the door.

"Oh, and Dani?" I added, watching as she turned to look at me. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay.. Don't sweat it." She smiled before leaving.

I stared down at my phone. It blinked a new alert, saying:

26 Missed Calls From: Loueey Pooey.

Slide To Call Back.

I followed the instructions and slid my finger across the screen. And in that moment I decided on a crucial thing.

I wasn't going to tell him.
