It was nice to be back in London. Maybe not so nice since there was a strange man who kept shooting the walls living in 221B - You lived in 221C, one letter different, obviously - at strange times. Ignoring that, it was nice to be in London.

You had planned to meet all your old friends from school and college and maybe a few of your university friends but the strange man downstairs was too intriguing.

Sherlock Holmes.

He was... different, to say the least. He claimed to be a 'high functioning sociopath' and he held little to no affection for anyone. Except for the landlady Mrs Hudson and his flatmate Dr Watson. He also kept insisting that you meet someone called Graham for some reason, he was someone at Scotland Yard.

You sat in your bedroom, too lazy to get out of the nice warm bed. Your phone kept dinging and vibrating for all the notifications you seemed to be getting.

Get out of bed, its important - SH

Get up and answer the door - SH

I'll just break in - SH

You sighed as he messaged you again.

Please answer the door - SH

You sighed and groaned as you hauled yourself out of the comfortable bed. You tied a fluffy dressing gown around you and went to answer the door. You opened it to see Sherlock. He smiled and muttered a thanks as he barged past you.
"Sherlock, what are you... whose are those?" You stared at the vials and beakers spread across the living room floor. They were not yours and they definitely weren't there when you had gone to sleep.
"You should get dressed," he said as he picked up the beakers and vials with gloves on. He then walked out of the flat and downstairs.
"Stay out of my flat!" You shouted down.
"It's Mrs Hudson's flat," he yelled back, correcting you.
"Well I live here!"

A few hours later, Sherlock was back at your flat door. You groaned as you opened it and found yourself being dragged downstairs.
"Sherlock, what are you doing?"
"You keep saying that you want to see what happens at an investigation."
"But I-" You stopped yourself as you realised the futility of trying to argue with Sherlock Holmes. You both got inside the cab. John was already in it. "Where are we going?"
"Scotland Yard." It wasn't worth questioning him.

You followed Sherlock and John through the corridors of Scotland Yard until you came to an office.
"Lestrade, what is it?" I had a friend with that last name, you mused.
"Double homicide," he said. Sherlock huffed like a child as he took the file off the desk.
"Grah-"
"Greg," interrupted the police man.
"Greg?" You repeated. Surely in couldn't be your friend?
"(Y/n)?"
"You two know each other?" asked John. Sherlock looked at the both of you and walked off with the files. "Just leave him to it, he does that a lot."

"I've missed you," You admitted. "And look at you! Working at Scotland Yard! You're doing well!"
"How are you doing?" he asked.
"Meh," you replied. "I have a minor YouTube channel on (subject) and I work most of the week so I'm okay, I guess."
"That's great," said Greg. He offered you both a drink and a seat but you and John politely declined. Knowing Sherlock, the minute you had sat down and sipped the drink, you'd have to go somewhere.

You both fell into a slightly awkward silence on the office. You decided to break it.
"Things ended a bit... abruptly so... want to go out for dinner?"
"Saturday?" You nodded.
"Sounds good," you confirmed while you smiled. "You should probably get back yo police stuff." John cleared his throat and you both remembered he was there.

Sherlock had been disappointed by the case Scotland Yard had given him.
"So you are Greg are dating?" Sherlock asked bluntly.
"Sherlock," John scolded. It was like being with a child sometimes.
"Not yet?"
"But you were in university. It ended because you were going separate ways and you didn't want a long distance relationship."
"Close," you said.
"Always get one thing wrong, one thing," he mumbled to himself.
"I wanted to travel a bit so that's why we split up, and because we had an argument over it and just... stopped going out I guess?" Sherlock looked at you with raised eyebrows.
"Just get married already, that's what most people do, isn't it?"
"I just met him for the first time in years, Sherlock!" You saw John nudge Sherlock. The 'highly functioning sociopath' didn't get the message.
"And...?" he drawled. "You clearly still like each other.
"Oh shut up, Sherlock!"

This is for masterwolforange. I hope you liked it. :)
