Alexander walked around the ball with John as his wing man. Burr was here somewhere too with some of his friends.
"Alexander."
"General Washington, sir," said Hamilton. The general motioned for him to relax and Alex did. "How are you finding the ball, sir?"
"Good, how are you finding it?"
"Also good, sir." Some wealthy man walked up to Washington and started talking.

After excusing himself, Alexander found himself near the dance floor where couples were dancing.
"Hey, Alex, look at one of the Schuyler sisters. She'd be great for you," said John. Alex jumped.
"Where did you come from?" asked Alex. John shrugged. "Anyway, I can't just go over and talk to her, I've never even met her before."
"That's why you have me," laughed Laurens before he began to make his way around the edge of the dance area. Alexander found himself growing anxious as he saw his friend talking with the woman in the yellow dress. Laurens and the Schuyler sister kept glancing his way and he kept trying to make himself look like he wasn't just standing there.

Laurens led the woman over to him only a few minutes later. Alexander smiled and brushed his lips over the back of her hands.
"Alexander Hamilton," he introduced.
"You're friends says good things about you, Mr Hamilton," she said politely. "My name is Margarita Schuyler but you may call me Peggy."
"Then you may call me Alex," he managed to say as he felt his neck get how. He pulled at his collar slightly as he felt his cheeks flush red.
"I'll leave you two to it," said Laurens. He patted Alex on the back as he head off in search of Lafayette and Hercules.

After some conversation, Peggy realised she had to find her sisters Angelica and Eliza.
"Promise you'll find me after?" she asked. "And if you don't, that you'll write to me?"
"I promise," said Alexander. "I'll write to you from anywhere I may be. I could be in the hands of the British and I would still find a way to keep in contact with you."
"You honour me, Alex," said Peggy with a smile.
"Like you honour me with your presence." They parted, leaving Alex with a permanent smile on his face.

"You love her, don't you?" Alex flinched.
"John Laurens, you need to stop doing that!" exclaimed Alexander but his friend just laughed at him.
