We don't know what the new Doctor is like yet but this was suggested by UnusualGeek.

You sighed as you heard a knock on the door. Yet again, it would not be the Doctor. He had left you here for several years, always promising to return for more adventures. But he never came back.

You had tried to move on.

It didn't happen.

There was another knock on the door and a ridiculous feeling in your heart gave you a tiny hope. It would probably be crushed when you opened the door.

Opening the door, you saw a blonde woman smiling at you.
"Can I... help you?" You asked. Admittedly, she was quite nice looking.
"You're (Y/n), (Y/n) (L/n). Right?" Slowly you nodded and took a step backwards.
"Yeah, so... who are you?"
"I'm the Doctor."

For a moment, it felt like time had frozen. Your heart seemed to skip a beat and everything felt right but looked... strange. The person in from of you was a woman, not the man you remembered.

"How?"
"I regenerated into a woman," she said. "How long has it been for you?"
"Five years, what about you?"
"I don't actually remember," she said sheepishly. "But you don't seemed bothered by... this." She gestured to herself and her female body in a hoodie you swear looked familiar.
Shrugging, you replied with: "Should I be?" She shrugged back.

"I don't know, I know you liked me when I was a man," she said. "I thought that might have changed."
"Why would it?" You asked. "Do you remember when we went to Kansas in 1967?"
"To watch Impala come off the production line? Of course I do," she said, smiling at the memory. "Remember the first alien planet I took you too?"
"The weird one with the erm... the cat people?" The Doctor nodded and recalled more memories of times together that didn't seem so long ago now that the Doctor was stood in front of you.

As you looked at her, you didn't see a female Doctor, you just saw the Doctor. You pulled her into a hug.
"I've missed you," you whispered.
"I've missed you too but five years had been a long time. We need to catch up and go on those adventures I promised."
"I'd love to."
