Everyone's eyes were on the very first grave in Paradise. Not a lot of people were pleased having a dead body on board the Flat Trans, but everyone was ready to fight whoever was going to contradict them.

When everyone reached Paradise, they celebrated and were happy that they were finally free. They were all greeted with green grass, a warm sun, wonderful trees, and clean fresh water. It felt like forever since everyone has seen a sight like this before.

Tears were streaming down their faces as they looked at the very first grave in Paradise. Flowers were surrounding the grave. There was also a wood carved banner that was on one end of the grave. They didn't bury her just like the Gladers did in the Glade. In the banner, it wasn't just her name written on it.

There is was written:

Ava Paige
Loving mother and wonderful wife

(Y/N) laid her head on her father's shoulder, tears streaming down her face. She felt her father's arms wrap around her and hug her. She hugged him and cried in his shoulder. It was just the both of them there. Her friends and Hans' wife, Mary, wasn't there.

"I miss her dad," (Y/N) sobbed.

"I know darling. I miss her too. But if it wasn't for her, it would've been you there right now."

Flashback...

She closes her eyes and waits for the bullet.

"NOOOO!"

(Y/N) opened her eyes and heard Dr. Janson scream. But it wasn't just him that yelled. There was also a woman's voice.

(Y/N) turned her head and saw her mom shielding her daughter with her entire body.

"Mom!" Was the only thing that (Y/N) said.

Her mom was right in front of her and the bullet hit Ava's stomach. Her mom's body fell on hers and they both fell on the ground.

"Mom." (Y/N)'s voice was shaking, "MOM!" It was evident in Ava's face that she was still alive, but her breathing was ragged.

Dr. Janson was also surprised with what just happened. He looked at (Y/N) with scared eyes. She was still staring at her mother's body with shock in her entire body. Her mother saved her and gave her own life for her. It was something she never thought her mother would do.

"Ava!"

(Y/N) looked up and saw an unfamiliar man and woman running towards them. The man's knees broke down and he took her mother's hand in his. Tears were flowing on his face.

"First, it was my friends in the Maze," (Y/N) muttered as she gently pushed herself away from her mother. "They all died!" She yelled at Dr. Janson. "I WAS READY TO DIE WITH THEM!!"

Now, she was going to face another loss.

All the names of her friends that died throughout the years came flooding back inside (Y/N)'s head. (Y/N) could hear someone calling her name, but she ignored it. She couldn't hear anything but the thumping of her heart. Everything else was white noise.

(Y/N)'s hands were curled up into fists. She faced Dr. Janson with her eyes brimming with hatred. She wasn't going to the Crank side. There isn't enough blood in her system for that to happen. She didn't lose herself this time, but she lost herself to her anger.
