↳ chapter nine:
the creek

Master We Hwa gathered the Hwarangs in the front yard and ordered the assistant instructor to tell them the rules of the house. Hae stood under the balcony on which the assistant instructor was standing, looking over the Hwarangs.

''After three warnings, you will be kicked out.Those that cause a disorder,those that escape Hwarang House without permission,those who break trust among Hwarang members.You will be given a warning.''

Hae noticed how the Hwarangs were restless as they looked at each other.

''There is no Bone Ranking System in Hwarang House '' Hae announced and the Hwarangs looked at her in shock and bewilderment.

'' Hence, you will not have any servants.Hence, you will have to take care of yourselves''

Most of Hwarangs either groaned or shook their heads in disagreement and shock.Hae shook her head at their reactions and left the yard.She went to Master We Hwa office and knocked.

''Come in '' She opened the door and walked inside, seating herself on the opposite of We Hwa.He nodded in a form of respect and she nodded back.

''How are you planning on teaching them teamwork if they cannot stand each other? '' Hae questioned, even though she already had an answer.

''They will, eventually, have to work together in order to survive.They will become a team, sooner or later Your Highness ''

''No formalities please, Master We Hwa.I do not like it '' We Hwa nodded and smiled at the princess.

''I heard of your entrance this morning, tell me how did you manage to calm them down, at least for a bit?''

Hae shrugged, not really knowing how.''I do not really know.Some people said that I can be quite intimidating, I guess. '' We Hwa nodded and wrote something down.Hae tried to read it but it was no avail, as the paper was too far.

''May I ask what did you write down?''

''Just a note to call you if a fight brakes out ''

Hae let out a laugh and exited the room.She walked around the House.Noticing the quietness and peace she walked to a nearby guard. ''Where are the Hwarangs? ''

''At the stream, Your Highness, washing their clothes ''

She nodded and started walking towards the stables.Upon seeing a certain white horse she smiled and hurried.''Hello Hayangi ''

The hare neighed and walked closer to her.Hae petted her huge head and took the reins, taking her out of the stall.She went to get the saddle and carefully strapped it on.When she was done, Hae led her out and climbed on her.

Hae urged Hayangi into a gallop and started her way towards the stream which wasn't far.Through the forest, she heard yells and splashing and laughed.

Soon she made an appearance to the Hwarangs.She looked around and saw a buff man looking over the Hwarangs.She saw Hansung washing his robe and she made her way to him.Luckily he wasn't as close to the others.

''Hello ''

Hansung, a little startled, looked up and saw Hae smiling down at him.He grinned back and went back to washing as she got off her horse.''It would be easier if you rub it in the water '' She noted and Hansung moved his robe to the water, continuously rubbing it so the stains would come off.

''How are you? '' Hansung questioned her as she sat down next to him.She shrugged .

''Fine I guess.You've seen me this morning, silly.Nothing changed ''

Hansung smiled once again and grabbed his robes and got up.

''I've finished '' She nodded and the two made their way back to the House.Hae held Hayangi's reins in one hand while the other took a hold of Hansung's hand.

Hansung looked down at their entwined hands and gave her a slight squeeze, before looking up and pecking her cheek.It took her by surprise and Hae could feel herself blushing.She tried to hide it by placing her hair over her face but Hansung saw that and stopped walking.

''Do not hide your face from me '' He said while gently brushing the strands of her hair from the face.Hae giggled and pecked him before continuing walking.Hansung grinned at her and ran to catch up.Once he did he took a hold of her hand and held it until they arrived at the House.
