It's 4pm and I'm sitting on the floor of my bedroom. The light coming through the window is gold and warm. Up on my bed, wearing an oversized t-shirt I got from the zoo, is Jackson doing his homework.
So far this summer has been a blur and I feel like I haven't seen him a lot but I think it makes me cherish silly moments like this more.
Just this month I've gotten my wisdom teeth out, gone to the zoo and the beach within 3 weeks of each other. I'm working a lot in the mornings and then Jackson has summer classes from 1-3pm every day except Friday. It's hard for us to hang out but we make it work.
Next week I'll be living alone for awhile and Jackson and I planned a trip to Raleigh to see all his college friends. It should be fun. I hope to get in a beach trip or a trip to Carowinds before the summer is over for just me and him.
Sitting here on my bedroom floor watching him mumble to himself accounting equations makes me realize I love him even more than I did last summer.
