Shuttered Impulses [HIATUS]

Chapter 23

~During the time Mei is coaxing the Planet's Heart Fire~

   Cheng Xieren was currently sulking outside of some backwater City in the Lower Realm. 

"Damn him! Just wait until I get back! I'll slaughter all nine generations of your family!"

 Not only was he thrown into the Lower Realm but that Dead Man actually used Spirit Binding Chains on his body. He looked down at his sad form and couldn't help but curse. When was the last time he'd been stuck in the body of a small cub? Even those of the lowest rank in the Lower Realm would surely be capable of killing him. 

It was precisely this the reason why that guy sent him to the Lower Realm. It wasn't bad enough that he locked his soul into his young body but he'd also made it so even with his last breath he was utterly humiliated. To be killed by one of these ants was worse than having all of his spiritual power locked from his access. 

His tiny green paws slightly padded on the dirt road and he glanced up the high rising wall with a huff. These stone walls were so tall that he couldn't crane his tiny head back far enough to actually view the top. 

(Cheng Xieren)  Except his tail resembles more as though he has a scale like pattern made from leaves; it does a good job of looking like normal fur though.  

Just at that moment as he was contemplating on how to get inside without having to go through the City Gates the sound of a large burst of wind entered his ears. Before he could react, his tiny body was encased in the wind and debri; lifting him off the ground. 

"Ahhhhhhh!" 

His voice was drowned out due to the surroundings and debri flung into his open mouth. He attempted to cough it up but instead merely swallowed the stuff. Suddenly he felt his Qi circulating and his eyes opened wide in astonishment. The chains were still on his body but there was a miniscule amount there so he opted to use it while it lasted. 

Utilizing the bit of Qi in his body, he quickly transported himself to the top of the wall. Just in time because his body seemed to drain of power; pushing him to lay still for a while. 

"Damn! Who has such guts to actually attack this Young Master?! Really hateful. Some Ant truly is daring!"

He continued to pant as his tongue lolled out while he attempted to get himself back together. 

"Whoever that was though has a unique flavor... Perhaps... Well, I guess I'll go investigate."

~Back to current time~

Mei exited the dwelling in an elegant, nearly see through robe. Senri was used to his Young Miss being completely naked so this was an improvement. Unfortunately, this was the first time that Kai had seen any woman in such little and provocative clothing, if you didn't take Mei's earlier dress into account. 

"I'll begin first with you feeling your element. Enter the middle pool," she then turned to Senri, "You'll sit inside of the Black Pool."

Senri looked at the creepy black pool and gulped. 

"Young Miss, are you sure it's safe?"

Mei rolled her eyes, "Of course I'm sure. Otherwise, would I tell you to get into it?"

Senri heaved a sigh and walked into the Spring. As soon as he entered, a large influx of Yang begun to enter through his poles that had just opened from the heat. He sucked in a cold breath as he forcibly tried to push down his body's natural urge to absorb it all at a quick rate. 

Luckily I'm used to Young Miss nearly killing me and having a fast reaction time. That could've been dangerous. He wiped the cold sweat off his forehead, internally. 

Mei walked slowly into the middle pool and turned to wait for Kai to join her. In front of Kai was an ethereal view. The most beautiful woman he's ever laid eyes upon was soaking inside of a Hot Spring as the white robe clung to her body and giving glimpses of the outlines beneath it. Steam rose from the waters surface creating an image as though an Immortal had descended before him. 

Mei noticed the 'struck dumb' look on Kai's face and frowned. 

"Hurry and enter the water," she said impatiently. 

Kai hurried to comply and walked in with strong strides. As soon as he entered he felt his spiritual power begin to slowly raise. He was surprised that merely soaking in the water had begun to raise his Cultivation; especially since he wasn't meditating. 

"Now, feel the water surrounding you. I want you to try and soak up only the medicinal qualities. As someone with the element to control Water you're capable of strengthening your body in ways that those without can't. Water makes up a large part of the Human body and since your body is extremely well matched with the Element for water it means your body has more concentration of it. Medicine enters into the body and forms into a liquid which you can absorb at 100%. Only an Immortal Body can absorb 100% but Water Elementals are capable of mimicking this process."

Understand that in the Lower Plane it is impossible to completely absorb medicinal effects 100% but Mei was now telling Kai that he could. He didn't understand all the things she was explaining but did get that the main things were he could absorb medicine completely and she wanted him to separate the medicine from water within the Hot Spring.

He immediately closed his eyes and begun to try and rotate his Qi within the water and begin the separating process. While he was doing this, Mei glanced over at Senri and noticed his extremely Lobster red face and couldn't help but chuckle. 

At that moment she felt something behind her within the courtyard. Her eyes sharpened. There shouldn't be anyone behind me. This person's Cultivation is impossible to see.

Mei utilized her combined Qi and vanished from her spot. All that could be heard was one small sound of a water drop hitting the surface of the Hot Spring. Ten meters away from the Hot Spring was a green wolf cub salivating as he stared at the Spring with excitement. 

"This is clearly the Heavenly Immortal Spring! If I could soak in this every day, perhaps in ten years I can break these chains. Then I won't need to sign a contract with one of these lowly ants!"

In his excitement, he didn't realize that someone had appeared behind him. 

"Oh? What's a cute little green wolf doing inside of my Courtyard?"

"Someone was able to sneak up on me?!" Cheng Xieren hurriedly turned around and immediately put up his guard. He didn't have any way of protecting himself. Is this the person who earlier flung that Debri at me?

As he was sizing her up she was reciprocating. How strange. It's clearly just a baby and yet I can't perceive it's Cultivation. Her eyes narrowed further in agitation. Either this was a baby or something trying to trick her.
