Anna

Almost two months have passed since the 'friendly date' with Xander and sadly he's been pretty busy. It turns out he was in town for business and it's difficult for him to leave his own territory very often. We do text all the time and talk on the phone every day.

He's slowly replacing Elena as my confidant. He only advises but never judges, but I would never mention any of that to Elena. I still call her every day in the afternoons and she makes sure I wake up to go to work every day.

I also talk to my brother about pack related matters. Even if I'm not present, I pretty much serve the same functions in my pack. I have lunch with Sandra every day and I have grown very fond of her. I still don't dare to mention that Caleb might be my mate, though. That's something I'm still learning to deal with.

Today's Tuesday and I'm meeting with Marcy at the cafe-library as usual. We go get coffee and new books on Tuesdays and Thursdays and on any other day we both feel like it. I've become very close to her.

I tell her everything not related to Caleb. She does know that I suspect that my mate is one of my students and she supports it. I also told her some things about my past and she has shared hers with me as well.

She often asks me for advice even for pack related matters, since she knows I serve as a Beta for my own pack. She and Alpha King agreed to keep my rank a secret. I went back to training which isn't difficult as the forest literally extends to my backyard.

The most notable thing that has happened, though, is that I haven't found Caleb with any other girl since that day in the park, not even in the parking lot. He's always being nice to me and smiling. Maybe, he's finally changing as his birthday is approaching.

"Anyway, do you know why I asked to meet with me today?" Marcy' voice brings me back from my daydreaming.

"Marcy, we've met here at this same time every single Tuesday and Thursday for the last couple of weeks." I swear she blushed but she looks away before I can confirm it.

"Anyway, this time there's a legit reason," she says sipping some of her coffee. "I need to ask you a huge favor."

"Sure, Marcy. I'm in great debt with you. I'd do anything I can to help you out." I rub her arm.

"During the last couple of weeks Caleb's behavior has gotten worse and worse. He's now bringing girls to the Alpha's house and he had never done that before."

I stiffen. I guess he hasn't changed after all. Is he just hiding it from me? Why would he?

She keeps talking. "You're close to his age and a figure of authority. Maybe, if you advise him, he'll understand. Aaron and I are getting worried. I feel sorry for his future mate. Imagine if she's seeing what he's doing now, she'd be heartbroken in the future. She might even grow to hate him."

Oh you have no idea my dear friend.

"It hurts less and less each time," I whisper. "I mean, Marcy with all due respect it'd be too uncomfortable for me to talk to him about personal things. I'm just his teacher, not a counselor. I have no authority to do that. I think that it's even illegal."

"I know, but I'm asking this as a friend and as a... Luna... I've tried everything I could come up with, and nothing seems to get to him. I'm desperate."

I sigh. She asked me as a Luna. She might as well command me to do it. There's no way I can reject this petition and she knows it.

"What do you want me to do? Maybe meet with him after school and ask him if there is a reason for doing what he does?"
