She was not for everyone, but she was for me.

"What was her name?" Evelyn asked, slicing the onions while doing so.

"Am I supposed to remember that?" Tony chuckled, tossing another blueberry into his mouth.

"Stop eating this, I'm making dinner, and yes you're supposed to remember your first time," Evelyn set down the bag of blueberries, and continued making dinner.

"I honestly have no idea who she is," Tony laughed, and Evelyn frowned.

"Well, you are the only person I have slept with, so there isn't much to forget," she started setting the plates, making sure to check on the mashed potatoes while doing so.

"And the last person you will ever sleep with," he stressed on the point, forcing her to let out a little laugh.

"How can you be my last when I'm not yours?" She raised an eyebrow, and he nodded as if saying that she was right.

"Fine, you'll be my last too. I promise you that," he lifted her up on the counter, and a slow smile creeped its way onto his face.

"How can I be sure of that?" She let out a little chuckle, pulling him in between her legs.

"Yeah, you're right. I'm not exactly big on promises, am I?"

"No, you're not," she placed a kiss on his chin, and just when she was about to get down, he forced her to stay.

"I don't want anyone else for the rest of my life. So yeah, I can actually promise that there will be no one else after you," he pulled on her arm, and wrapped it around his neck, allowing him more access to her.

"No, still not good enough to believe you," she teased him, ready to go fetch the food before they burn the entire kitchen.

"Yeah, guess I need to pick it up a notch."

Right before she jumped down, he said something that made shock rock through her very core.

"Marry me."

She spun around in an instant, eyes wide, mouth agape, heart beating like frenzy.

"Oh my...what?"

"Yeah, figured you'd react that way. Here," he slowly slid his hand into hers, pulling it up to his face, a ring in his other hand.

"May I?" He asked, and she nodded barely even forming words.

And just like that, he slid the ring into her finger, forever marking her as his.

Forever being hers.

"Does that mean I'd have to change my company's name from Ross to Stark?" She was getting chocked up talking, and he simply smiled, wanting nothing more than to spend the rest of his days with the remarkable woman before him.

"Oh my god. Tony I love you!" And just like that, she engulfed him into a hug, where she showed him how happy she was.

"It was long past due, don't you think?"

"Tony I...Oh my-" tears were already welling up in her icy blue eyes, and he was having trouble with wiping all of them away.

"You really want to marry me?" Happy tears were sliding down her rosy cheeks.

"Implied by me actually asking the question, baby." His laughter combined with hers was the only thing that could be heard in his Malibu Mansion, and nothing could ever blow up their pure bubble of happiness.

"Hey, call your mom. Tell her the good news, and call Madi too, she demanded that she should be a part of the proposal, but I ignored her. Oops." Tony made a face, not really wanting to deal with an angry Madison Greene.

"You told Madi before you told me?" Evelyn dropped her jaw, and Tony rolled his eyes.

"She saw me picking up the ring, and I had to go and hold her shopping bags while she eats because I didn't want her to tell you," Tony grinned, wrapping his arms around her waist and spinning her around slowly.

"That little.." Evelyn stopped herself and shook her head slowly, unable to believe that she was actually engaged.

It was surreal.

"So when is the wedding?" Tony asked her, and she shrugged.

"I don't know. A year maybe?" She bit her lip once she saw the look on his face.

"What the...no! A year is too long, Vee." He shook his head, disagreeing to hold it off for this long.

"I'd marry you tomorrow if i had a say in it," He huffed stupidly, leaning down and smattering kissed on her neck, "six months. No more. Call your mom, and tell her six months, and I'll be carrying my boyfriend's last name."

"Tony," she was laughing so hard right now, everything was perfect, she had every-fucking-thing she wanted.

"I swear to god, Evelyn. It's no more than six months." He warned, tickling her sides while saying so.

"Tony please! Stop!" She squealed, and tried and failed to push him away.

"Six months!"

"Fine! Six fucking months! Are you happy?" She tossed her head backwards in laughter, tightening her grip around his neck.

"I love you so fucking much, trash can."

"Yeah." He smiled, and for the first time Evelyn wanted him to say the words back, but she knew that he wouldn't.

She leaned up to kiss him when the smell of burning interrupted their moment.

"Fuck." He cursed, and they spent the rest of their day, tossing out burned objects, and silently imagining each other at the wedding.
