Why did you do it?

Chapter 17

     It's the day before the finals and ash wants to get some training in with his Pokémon. "Hey guys I'm gonna go do some special training wanna come?" Ash asked his companions. "Sorry Ash I've gotta go out for supplies but I'll catch up with you later." Brock said. "Oh okay see ya later." Ash said. "I'll go with you ash." Misty said. "Great let's go!!" Ash said enthusiastic.

       "So Ash ready for your match tomorrow?" Misty asked. "Yeah actually I am." Ash said confidently. Misty smiled and said "well then what kind of special training do you plan to do?" Ash thought "I was just gonna have my Pokémon battle each other to help with there moves.". "Yeah that sounds good and hey maybe we can battle at some point too." Misty said. Ash replied with "Yeah that sound good."

         "Okay pikachu and gible I choose you!" Both Pokémon got in battling mode. "Pikachu use thunderbolt on gible!" Pikachu used thunderbolt on gible but didn't effect him. Misty looked at ash confused and asked him "um... you do know gible is part ground type right? So electric type moves won't work." Ash then went for another command "okay now pikachu use iron tale and gible dodge." Ash then looked at misty and said "of course I know that but we're only training." Misty didn't understand how that helped with his training but it's Ash so... "okay now gible use rock smash and pikachu dodge." Gible used rock smash and pikachu dodged it just in time. "Now use iron tale once more!" With that Pikachu used iron tale on gible and knocked him down. After a little more battling and practicing moves with his Pokémon they decided to go to the Pokémon center to have Ashs Pokémon checked out and to get something to eat.

        "So Ash after we eat do you wanna have our battle?" Ash said while eating "yeah sure." Misty just shook her head not surprised at all at Ashs appetite. "Um... ash I was wondering something?" Misty said nervously. Ash not looking up said "yeah...". "Well I know you wanna wait till tomorrow to use your Greninja but I was wondering if we could have a battle between my gyrados and your Greninja?" Ash looked up "But since there both water types wouldn't that leave both of us slightly at a disadvantage?" Ash asked confused. "Ash almost all my Pokémon are water type so either way I'll end up at a disadvantage at some point in the battle." Misty said. Ash thought about it. He didn't plan on using Greninja but it's not like it's a terrible idea. "Okay yeah sure." Ash finally answered. "Really okay cool. Can't wait to battle Greninja!" Misty said enthusiastic. Ash just snickered. "Ash your Pokémon are all better!" Ash heard Nurse Joy call. Ash got up and ran over happily. "Thanks so much Nurse Joy!" Nurse Joy just gave Ash a smile and left. "Alright Misty ready when you are." Ash said.

          Both Ash and misty decided to find a quite place to battle in the woods. "Hmm... this seems like a good spot. Gyrados come on our!" Misty said. "Okay Greninja I choose you!" Ash said. Both Pokémon come out ready for a battle. "Okay I'll go first... gyrados use hydro pump!". "Now Greninja Use double team!" Both trainers said. Greninja used double team avoiding Gyrados hydro pump. "Use Ariel ace!" Ash told Greninja. Greninja used Ariel ace and landed a hit on Gyrados. "Gyrados you good?" Misty asked concerned but Gyrados just shrugged it off. "Alright then Gyrados Use hyperbeam!" Gyrados used a powerful hyperbeam and managed to knock Greninja down leaving a direct hit. "Greninja are you alright?!" Ash asked concerned. Greninja got up indicating it could still fight. "Alright then I think it's time Greninja for us to show your true power." Misty's watched fascinated as Greninja slowly started to evolve and the change had some similarities to ash. "Wow... that's amazing it like you two have become one with each other." Misty said. Yup... we have now use water shuriken." Ash commanded. "Quick gyarados dodge!" Misty yelled and Gyrados managed to dodge. "Good now use crunch!" Misty said. "Dodge and use cut!" Ash said. With that Greninja dodged and Gyrados got stuck on a rock. "No gyrados!" Misty said worried. "Do it Greninja!" With that Greninja used Cut knocking gyarodos out. "Gyrados return! You battle well." Misty said. "That was a great battle ash! That is one cool Pokémon you got there. "Thanks Misty... my Pokémon and I are gonna win this thing together." Ash said determined. "I'm confident you guys with too." Misty said proudly. "Hey wanna have another battle?" Ash asked misty. "Yeah sure let's make it a 3 on 3 battle this time." Misty said amused. "Sounds good to me okay then let's battle!" Ash said determined.
