BLAKE'S POV

"Well look who it is Mr. I don't call my best friend for the whole summer," Eddie said while hugging me. I hugged him back laughing. He hadn't changed one bit.

"Oh stop exaggerating, " I said while putting things into my locker, " I didn't call you for one week and it became the whole summer. " Closing my locker I looked at him, watching him do the same.

Eddie and I have been best friends since elementary school seeing that both of our parents worked for the same company. Eddie is the loud and overdramatic best friend while I was the cool and collected one. We really were polar opposites. But that is what made us so close.

"Did you hear about the first day back party Andrew is having. He said the whole school is invited, you going to go?" I looked at Eddie before heading towards our homeroom. " Of course I'm going when have I ever not gone to one of Andrew's parties. " I joked, he and I both knew that statement was a whole lot of bull, this would be the first party for both of us at Andrew's house seeing as we were never invited to them.

"Okay but I am sleeping at your house after my mom will kill me if I came home drunk again, remember last time ?" I laughed, last time Eddie and I went to a party Eddie was so drunk that he threw up all over his mom's new couch. Lets just say it didn't end well for him.

We entered our homeroom, a loud mixture of voices talking about how their summer went and catching up on the latest gossip going around the school. Something about a new girl. This wasn't new seeing as it was the first day there was bound to be new students.

Eddie and I looked around for seats before picking some desks in the back, we headed over there taking our seats. "Hopefully the new girl is hot, I need a girlfriend." I rolled my eyes. "What makes you think she wants you I am clearly the better-looking one here," I said smirking.

Before Eddie could reply our teacher walked in causing the noise in the classroom to quiet down and students to take their seats. "Good Morning class I will be your homeroom and French teacher for this year. Now before we begin we have a new student, Ms. Bellerose please come in."

At that, the most beautiful girl walked into the class. The class started to whisper commenting on the new girl. I continued to stare speechless. "Hello everyone I am Victoria Bellerose. My family and I just moved here from France, I am happy to be here. " More whispers are heard after her introduction.

The new girl or should I say Victoria had lavender colored hair just barely passing her shoulders while her eyes were a pastel blue. Though she just came from France you could barely hear an accent.

"Woah," Eddie said. Just like the boys in the class all of them were looking at her with their mouths wide open. I looked at her too, to see she was already looking at me I turn away from her intense gaze and looked at my desk.

"Okay class settle down, Victoria why don't you have a seat by Blake," I looked up to see the teacher looking at me. " Blake raise your hand so Victoria knows who you are." I raised my hand slowly but it seemed as if Victoria already knew who I was because before I could get my hand fully up she was already in the seat next to me.

Small snickers could be heard from the class after seeing my hand still up even though Victoria was in her seat already. I put my hand down quickly, feeling embarrassed.

"You are so lucky," Eddie whispered to me " I wish she was sitting by me, do you see her eyes they are like the color of the sea." I turned my head to look at him confused. Her eyes were definitely a pastel blue. I looked at her and true to what he said her eyes were now the color of the sea, a dark blue.

Eyes don't change colors. It isn't possible, I turned away knowing I was staring too long. I try to focus on the lesson the teacher was giving but all I could think of was her pastel eyes staring back at me.

**********

After multiple boring classes, it was time for lunch. " Hey, Eddie I have to go to the library to check out a book for English you go ahead okay. " I said as Eddie and I passed the library. "Okay, don't take too long, " Eddie said before continuing his walk to the cafeteria.

I entered the library going straight to the romance section to find the book I needed called the 'East Of Eden'. As I entered the aisle I saw Victoria sitting in a beanbag chair reading. I tried to ignore her presence but I found myself glancing there one too many times.

"It would be great if you were one of the only boys that didn't stare when they saw me." I looked at her and saw she didn't even glance up from her book. I turned away before replying. "Sorry," I said and continued looking for the book, she didn't reply. After a while, I found the book and started to leave.

"Why are you here instead of at lunch?" I turned to see her still reading her book, but I knew she is talking to me. " I needed a book for English class. How about you, why are you here?" She looked at me. My breath caught in my throat, her eyes were a vibrant purple. "I find it hard to eat when people are watching your every move." She replied watching me closely.

" Y-Your eyes." I said feeling too shocked to realize that I stuttered. She slowly smiled showing dimples on each side of her face. " What about them? " She stated, her smile mocking and her eyes mischievous. "What color are your eyes?" I asked curiously.

"What color are they to you?" Her smile gone her purple eyes staring back at me daring me to answer.

"Purple," I said hesitantly. She doesn't answer. Her eyes turn back to pastel blue before she gets up and walks out of the library. Leaving me standing there thinking about the girl with the changing eyes.
