The morning light beaming through the open blinds rested on my sleeping face, efficiently waking me up. I groaned and sat up while rubbing my hurting eyes. Even though my eyes weren't open, they still burned from looking in that direction. The light made it seem as if my eyelids were made of translucent paper, allowing no protection and letting the light right through. As I stretched my muscles, my joints cracked and a yawn escaped my lips. It was quite chilly in the room. The window had been cracked open and let all the natural elements of late winter into the room. Even though Spring was on its way, it was still cold.

Slipping out from under the warm covers, my bare feet made contact with the cold, widen floors. My exposed arms and legs were being nipped at from the small breeze, having wore shorts and a tank top to be the previous night. Walking over, I quickly shut the window to save electricity, just in case Alpha had turned the heat on before he left or forgot to turn it off.

Even though I knew I was alone in this room, in the entirety of the house, I felt exposed. A vulnerable feeling washed over my body and I felt as if someone was watching my ever move. I hated it. It made me feel sick.

Trying to block out this feeling, I walked over to the closet and began rummaging through it until I found what I needed. Grabbing the first sweatshirt I could find, I tossed it over my head quickly. It instantly engulfed my body with its soft material and comforting smell, making the unwanted feeling almost disappear. The oversized clothing almost passed my thighs, completely covering my shorts. It's white color clashed with the color of my skin, making it look like I was more tan than I really was.

The feeling from last night returned once more, a lonely, a need for something that I could not reach of a take. I lifted the neck of the hoodie over my face, inhaling the intoxicating scent that resembled things of nature; pine and cedar trees. An overwhelming feeling wash over me, consuming me into a raging fire that I couldn't possible just ignore. I needed to read that letter once more. Almost storming over to the wooden nightstand, I grabbed the note off the stand and held it delicately between my hands. Instead of it being the green post it note, it was replaced with a folded piece of paper that looks like it had been torn from a notebook. Running my eyes over the paper as I read it, a feeling of fear overcame me and my blood turned cold.

You look so delicate, so peaceful lying in that bed. As you sleep away, you have no idea that I am here, standing over your unprotected body. It was quite easy to get here, just had to cause a few distractions and walk right into and unlocked house. I though you were better than that, my dear Malia. As you know, I got in here once and I could easily do it again. If you do not turn yourself into to me by sunset, than something will happen and the blood will be on your hands. All you have to do is walk across the border and wait in the clearing by the western border. I will be waiting.

Your Master

The paper slipped from my shaking hands and fluttered to the floor. Bile crawled up my throat and ran to the bathroom, throwing my non-existent breakfast into the toilet. The acid from my stomach burned my throat and left a sour taste in my mouth. Dry heaving over the toilet seat, I blindly reached out and flushed my rancid bodily fluid down the drain.

I sat back and curled into a ball in the corner, the walls shrouded me and offered me some sort of protection. I could feel my entire body involuntary shaking from pure, utter fear. Shear terror clouded my thoughts and wouldn't allow me to think of anything else but him. My brain couldn't even register that it was suffocating itself because it couldn't even think to allow me to breath. Vomit and salt from my tears could be tasted on my lips. I needed Kai, my brain finally focused on something else.

Pushing myself though my fear, I stood up on shaky legs. Not wanting to taste the bile anymore, I searched for the toothbrush and toothpaste that Alpha had allowed me to use. My hands were so unsteady that I could barely holding anything and I squirted the white, mint paste all over my hand and the bristles on the brush.

I managed to throughly clean my mouth and grab the note before I left the house, not even thinking of making the bed. I needed to find Kai. No, no I needed to leave. I needed to leave before anyone more people get hurt because of me, rather it me directly because of me or through me. Blindly, I stumbled through the forest, the possibility of running into bears or mountain lions not even becoming a thought. I choked out a sob that I had been desperately been trying to hold in and my knees gave out. My back slid down the rough and uneven bark as I curled into a protective ball and sobbed once more.

"Malia? Is that you? I've been looking for you all morning! Where have you been-" Her voice began to slow and trail off as she took in my trembling frame. "Oh my Moon Goddess! What's wrong? Are you okay?" I slowly shook my head back and forth.

"N-no." I shakily whispered.

"Why? What happened?" I stuck my arm out and she took the test stained letter from my still shaking hand. I watched her eyes move across the page and a sliver of fear filling them.

"I have to leave." I said when she put the letter down, indicating that she was done reading it.

"No." She shook her head. "No you don't. Orion is going to fix everything. The pack as a whole is going to fix everything. You are safe here."

"'Kai, you don't understand. I may be safe here but others are not. I have to go before someone else get hurt."

"Malia." She crouch down in front of me, looking me directly in the eye. "If Master really wanted you then he would have taken you when he gave this to you. You know him and what he can do, how manipulative it is. He has something planned and you know it. If you leave, he may do something worse to us, the pack. You have to stay."

"I forget how smart you can be considering how young you are, Little One." I said and tried to wipe the dried tears if my face.

"I'm so young anymore, Malia." She said and held her hand out, efficiently pulling me off the ground. "Now, you are going to go take a bath and I will meet you in your room later. I have to talk to Caspian."

"No!" I grabbed her arm, making her stop in her place. "You can't tell him."

"I have to, Malia. The pack has to know just in case he is planning an attack." I signed in defeat and let her go, nodding my head solemnly.

There was an attack coming and there was no way I could stop it from happening. More blood will now be staining my hands once more.
