Jade's POV:
Two Weeks Later
It's late in the afternoon, meaning that the rodeo was about to start, so everyone was getting geared up. I am dressed in blue jeans, a black button-down shirt with crystals on the sleeves, and a black hat to match. I had a small necklace around my neck, one that won't affect my riding, and a rodeo belt to match.
I am by the trailer, tacking up Diablo for the race. His western tack was light brown leather with black here and there, along with silver crystals.
I untied Diablo's reins from the trailer and was about to head to the arena when Alonzo stopped me. He is dressed in his blue jeans, a sponsored shirt, and a jacket, along with his black hat, boots, and a big rodeo belt.
"Hi." he began.
"Alonzo," I started. "you ready for this evening?"
"I am but I don't know if the bull feels the same." Alonzo laughed.
A brief moment of awkward silence appeared between the two of us. I found it quite awkward.
"So, why did you come over here?" I asked.
"What do you mean?"
"The rodeo is about to commence, so usually everybody is near the arena waiting to compete. But instead, you came back here." I explained.
"I can't see my wife before the rodeo?"
"Ha, cute." I chuckled.
"Alright, alright, you're right. I came here to give you this." Alonzo said as he pulled out a ring.
My eyes widened. The ring is a western design that has a silver diamond on the top, and crystals on the sides. There was another ring next to it, similar in design but with less bling. I assumed that the ring is for Alonzo.
"What is this?" I added.
"Well, we are married and I forgot these when we actually got married, so I brought them that way nobody would be suspicious."
Alonzo picked up the ring with his fingers. I stuck my left hand out and Alonzo gently slid the ring on my finger. I looked down at the ring and was speechless. It is breathtaking.
"It's lovely." I blurted out, not realizing what I said.
I quickly snapped out of it. I took the other ring from Alonzo's hand and slid the ring onto his finger. Not only are we married, but now we also look the part.
"Um, well I better let you get ready. Just be careful out there."
"Why don't you walk me to the gate," I suggested.
Alonzo smiled. I held the reins tight in my hand, as I led Diablo toward the arena.
