"Hey Stranger."

"Hey Stranger."

"I told you my name, or were you drinking that night again?"

"No, I remember."

"Are you gonna tell me yours?"

"Probably not."

"Ha. Ha. Anyways, what are you doing?"

"Just trying to get this essay done."

"Oh should I leave then—"

"No! I mean no...it's pretty boring here anyways. All Cooper seems to be able to do is PLAY FORTNITE WHEN HE'S SUPPOSE TO BE HELPING ME."

"I'm pretty sure you can't have help on—"

"Shhhhhh. I missed a couple days, he filled me in on what we missed, and was suppose to give me an idea and the main layout of this essay BUT he's in the middle of something now."

"Who are you talking to?"

"Someone that actually makes time for me!"

"Mhm, bet its not a girl."

"As a mater of fact, it is."

"Sure, keep tellin' yourself that bud—DUDE!"

"Haha. KARMA!"

"Bitch."

"What was that?"

"Nothing! Love you!"

"Mhm..."

"Sorry about that."

"It's ok. You guys are funny."

"So what's the essay about?"

"Um, it's about human emotions and how each individual one comes to play in our every day lives."

"That sounds...fun."

"I've been stuck on the same line for two hours."

"Maybe I could help."

"Really?"

"Yeah, I've already got my homework done for the day. But I have to go to work in a few so let's see what we can do before then."

"Alright uh..."

"'Humans experience hundreds of emotions on a daily basis, some good, some bad...'"

"..."

"..."

"Oh that's it?"

"Yeah. I keep getting distracted by food."

"Well, this is the introductory paragraph right?"

"Yeah."

"Give a few examples of different emotions we may experience then look up stuff about how we are able to feel these things. After, you can give it a concluding sentence that is open ended so you're able to write the rest of your essay."

"Thanks. I don't know why but I just can't seem to think today."

"That's all right. We all have those moments."

"Where do you work?"

"Safeway. I make sandwiches by the deli."

"Which town?"

"Stormrock."

"Oh."

"Why?"

"I live in Eastmoor."

"Were you hoping I'd be able to serve you?"

"Actually yeah. I've been craving a good hearty sandwich since five o'clock this morning."

"That's an ungodly hour to be up."

"Right? Education wants us college students to hate life. I never get any sleep."

"How late do you stay up?"

"Usually like twelve, sometimes one."

"That's like four hours of sleep. How are you not dead right now?"

"I'm dead internally. Gotta keep these looks on fleek though."

"You did not just say that."

"Oh I did."

"I may have been wrong about there being hope for you."

"I'm hurt, Stranger. From the bottom of my heart..."

"Too bad—gotta go."

"I'm crying right now. These are real tears."

"Oh yeah, uh huh."

"Talk to you later."

"Whatevs Stranger.."

• Why didn't Copper believe him when he said he was talking to a girl?
• Have you read a foreshadowed moment and don't realize it?
