I'm forty one and we just bought a house by a lake. Every morning that the weather allows it we take a lap in the lake. When it's a little too cold Claire goes running every other day. I go with her sometimes, but not all the time. I don't really like running. And I know Claire doesn't especially like it either but she does it because she wants to stay in good shape.

She doesn't say it too much, but I know it. The age difference bothers her. She's worried that she's getting older and that she might not be able to keep up with me anymore. It's totally ridiculous because she's probably in better shape than I am and she's totally going to outlive me but I know it's useless to argue with her.

She's worried that her age is showing.

I let her feel what she needs to feel. But whenever she stares at her wrinkles for too long I kiss them and tell her she's too beautiful to be mine.

I tell her that I would love her if she was in a wheel chair, if she couldn't move anymore. I'd love her if she suddenly decided to become a man.

I tell her, I never fell in love with her body. I fell in love with her soul.
