High School AU
"Shoot." Virgil said, rummaging through his backpack.
"Whats wrong this time?" Roman asked, smiling at his best friend and secret crush.
"I forgot my frickin earbuds." Virgil muttered.
"We can share mine!" He responded.
They moved over to the wall of the science classroom.
Roman put one earbud in his ear and the other in Virgils.
After listening to a few P!ATD songs and some Dear Evan Hansen as they worked.
"Lets play a game." Virgil said.
"Ok." Roman responded.
"We take turns playing songs with a category. Like, songs that make us happy. Just to see what we come up with."
"Perfect."
"First category: best Disney song." Roman said.
Virgil played Something There from Beauty and the Beast.
Roman played When Will My Life Begin from Tangled.
They had a discreet dance session.
Next was favorite song.
Roman played Words Fail and Virgil played Impossible Year.
After that was play another persons favorite song.
In honor of Logan, Virgil played Bohemian Rhapsody.
Roman played Birds for Patton.
They kept going until Roman finally said
"A song that reminds you of me."
Roman sat there until he heard music in his right ear.
"If theres a prize for rotten judgement.." was all he heard before grabbing and kissing Virgil.
He kissed back eagerly.
They stayed like that for a while.
Or, until the bell rang.
"Hey. Do you, uh, wanna be my boyfriend?" Virgil asked nervously at their lockers.
"OH HELL YES!" Roman yelled.
Needless to say, Patton as a very proud fanboy that day.
