"Jon what the hell happened?!" I exclaimed just as Kathie sped out of the driveway and down the street.
"I-It doesn't matter.." He grumbled, tightening his grip on the gauze placed on his head. I could tell just by looking that he had a big gash on his scalp. Blood was..everywhere on him. One eye busted, cuts all over his body, and..bruises.
"Yes it does! Who did this to you?!" I sigh.
Jon and Jacob exchanged looks before Jacob turned to me. "Let's worry about getting to the hospital first, ok?"
"I hope you get your story straight Jon, because after you get cleaned up, I need answers." Kathie demanded, as she pulled up to the hospital's ER entrance.
Kathie and Jacob ran inside while I waited outside the car with Jon.
"Who did this to you? Please Jon..tell me." I begged.
"Seriously Astrid, stay out of it. I mean it." Jon growled. "Don't snoop where you don't belong."
Kathie returned a few seconds later with a wheelchair. Jacob pushed him while we followed Kathie. She led us to a quieter hall, less rooms, less staff.
"Astrid, close the blinds and lock the door. Jacob, get him on the bed." Kathie instructed, digging her laptop out of her bag.
I did what she told as did Jacob. Kathie pulled an IV bag and needle out of her purse and injected it into him.
"I'm really fine, just bandage me up and send me home." Jon rolled his eyes.
"Not only do you have a deep wound on your head, but multiple cuts that need to be cleaned out, plus your dehydrated which is where the fluids come in, and I'm doing a huge favor for you, possibly risking my entire career. So shut up." Kathie snapped.
"Alrighty." Jon mouthed, leaning his head back.
"Astrid, log into my program I downloaded on my personal laptop. Add Jon's name to the system, but only say we gave him a prescription and off he went." Kathie explained.
"On it." I sat down and began typing.
"Jacob, rummage through the cabinets, see if you can find blankets, extra gauze, anything. I'm gonna go and get some more supplies. Don't open the door for anyone." She demanded, before quickly exiting the room.
After following her orders, I exited out of the program and noticed Jacob occupied with searching. I pulled a chair up beside Jon.
"If Your here just to be more nosey, forget it." He muttered, eyes still closed.
"No..I just wanted to let you know, I was worried about you." That got him to open his eyes. "I don't know, I don't even like you. But seeing you on those steps, hurt, I didn't like it."
"Astrid-" He began, but the door burst open. Kathie emerged wheeling a tray full of supplies.
"Got everything?" I asked, and she nodded.
"Alright Jon, feel free to squeeze as tight as you want. I'll get you back for it later." Jacob smirked, grabbing his hand.
Kathie took the gauze off his head and began cleaning the wound.
"Ouch, watch it!" He winced.
"You want this cleaned out or not? Get an infection for all I care!" Kathie grumbled. She used dissolving staples to close the wound, and then applied cream to the area before wrapping gauze around it.
"Any other wounds or cuts I should know about?" Kathie asked, and he profusely shook his head.
"Here, I found a blanket." I grabbed one from the cabinet and laid it on him, causing him to wince slightly as I touched his torso.
