In a matter of a few hours, what ended up being just the three of us turned into a house full of strangers partying.
Ellie was serving drinks, Rex was in charge of music, and I was running around making sure nothing got broken or stolen.
After making a few rounds, I headed over to grab a drink and catch my breath.
"One beer," Ellie slid a bottle over to me.
"Thanks," I sighed with relief, taking a sip. "It's getting crazy in here."
"Tell me about it, we've gone through five kegs." Ellie chuckled. "But everyone looks like their having fun.."
"Oh yeah, I gotta remember to Thank Rex for DJing." I said, "He saved our asses."
"That's his job he does on the weekends, pretty good at it too." She explained.
"He's something.." I shook my head, taking a glance at him. Olivia was beside him, occasionally holding a cup infront of his face so he could take a drink.
"Mind holding the fort down for a few seconds? Kegs here and I gotta give the guy the money." Ellie said.
"Yeah, go on," I nodded.
Once she left, I handed people a few beers, poured some shots, or filled more cups with ice.
"Hey Astrid, Nice turn out you got.." A voice said from beside me. I turned in my chair to see Matt standing there.
"O-Oh Hey Matt.." I bit my lip. "Yeah huh? First time hosting too."
"I don't want to make things more awkward, but my thoughts are with you guys, with everything Kathie's going through and all..I'm thinking of everyone." He frowned.
"Thank you Matt, that means a lot." I smiled, "Here, take a beer."
He cracked it open and for a minute we stood there in silence, but I could tell both our minds were running in thoughts.
"Well I should get back to the guys, but if you need anything, let me know." He said, before walking off into the crowds.
Ellie returned momentarily, followed by a few guys from the football team carrying the keg. They got it all set up and Ellie resumed bartending duties.
Pretty soon, I had gulped down a few beers, and winded up downing a few shots. So I was feeling pretty good.
Which is definitely the reason why I took my phone out and called Jon.
"Fuck youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!" I yelled before hanging up.
"Was that Jon?!" Ellie giggled, pushing me playfully.
"Yeah!" I smirked, "I'm just starting to not care at this point, he hasn't gotten ahold of me, so obviously he doesn't either,"
Ellie's eyes focused behind me and widened, "I-I'm not so sure about that.."
I raise an eyebrow in confusion as I follow her gaze, my mouth dropping as I saw Jon walk through the door.
And he was walking right towards me.
"Fuck.." I muttered, my heart beginning to beat out of my chest. The last thing I remember is falling into Ellie's arms..

"Astrid? Are you awake?" My head moved at the sounds of someone calling my name.
The my eyes opened, and I realized I was in my room. I didnt hear the music anymore, that must mean the party ended.
