Our rival team for the homecoming game were the Tigers, who happened to be undefeated this season.

I luckily found an empty seat on our side of the bleachers, and this was one of those moments when I regretted not making a lot of friends.

Well at least when the game started I wouldn't feel so awkward.

I watched Matt and Jacob as they huddled the team around and probably gave some sort of speech to hype them up.

Olivia and Grace were at the sidelines, all decked out in sparkly costumes, ordering the cheerleaders around.

That got me to think about my article. Which was probably why I didn't notice anyone sitting next to me.

"Geez, Jon! You scared me!" I gasped, when I finally did notice.

"I could tell you were deep in thought. Your nose scrunches up when you got your thinking cap on." Jon smirked. "Fry?"

He held a bag of takeout from the diner to me. I gave him a look before taking it.

"I didn't know you liked football." I raised an eyebrow.

"Does anyone really?" He shrugged. "But I knew you were coming, and knew somebody had to keep you company..plus Olivia looks hot in her outfit."

"Well thanks for thinking of me...and Olivia." I added. "And I see you brought chili fries."

"Well I picked up some food on the way, figured you wouldn't mind if I brought them." He said.

"Your right." I winked, shoving a pile in my mouth. "So when does this thing start?"

"Any minute now..they all line up, and blow this thing called a whistle, then they kick this thing called a ball, and then they tackle each other." He explained.

"I know how football works," I snapped, making Jon give me a look. "Okay, I know the general explanation of football."

"Mhm."

"Hey, I paid ten dollars for this!" I whined.

"As did I." Jon held his ticket up. "I should've just snuck in through the fence."

"Well this will probably be the last game I ever go too..ever." I shrug.

"Wrestling is way more entertaining than this..it stops too much! See, that guy didn't even get to carry the ball!" He scoffed.

"It hasn't started yet.." I laughed. "Hey, at least your excited."

"Fuck off." Jon pouted.

The game seemed to fly by, especially because of Jon's remarks about every single player. I respected him for not saying anything too bad about Matt or Jacob. Although I think he really wanted too.

During halftime, Grace and Olivia led the cheerleaders to the front of the field.

Grace stood in front and held a microphone to her lips. "HELLOOOOOO MY FELLOW EAGLESSSSSSSSSSS!" Everyone erupted into cheers.

"I'm Grace, the Eagle's cheer captain, and over the course of a few weeks, we've developed an amazing routine to perform for you all!" She squealed.

Olivia suddenly walked over and snagged the mic from her grasp. "Actually Grace, while you've been leaving practice early, the rest of the team and I came up with a better routine than yours."

That shocked everyone. Jon and I exchanged looks.

"Oh boy, are they gonna pull each other's hair or something?!" Jon said in a high pitched voice.
