Willa brought our own mini speaker to the back deck. We listened to some new pop song that I didn't know. The timer on my phone rang, signaling that it was time to switch from laying on our backs to laying on our stomach.

"Here. You play something." She said, handing me her phone with YouTube already pulled up.

"You probably wouldn't like the music I do." I say trying to hand her back the phone.

She shook her head and held up her hand.

"Just play something Kam." She said, resting her head on her folded arms.

I typed in a song I found the other day that I liked.

I look up from the ground
To see your sad and teary eyes
You look away from me
And I see there's something you're trying to hide
And I reach for your hand but it's cold
You pull away again
And I wonder what's on your mind
And then you say to me you made a dumb mistake
You start to tremble and your voice begins to break
You say the cigarettes on the counter weren't your friends
They were my mates
And I feel the color draining from my face
And my friend said
"I know you love her, but it's over, mate
It doesn't matter, put the phone away
It's never easy to walk away, let her go
It'll be alright"

"I like this song." Willa mumbles into her arm.

I let out a sigh of relief and start to hum to the next verse.

So I still look back at all the messages you'd sent
And I know it wasn't right, but it was fucking with my head
And everything deleted like the past, it was gone
And when I touched your face, I could tell you're moving on
But it's not the fact that you kissed him yesterday
It's the feeling of betrayal, that I just can't seem to shake
And everything I know tells me that I should walk away
But I just want to stay.

After a few more songs Willa sat up.

"Let's go up to the front with the guys."

"Okay." I said shrugging. I grabbed my towel and slid my shorts back on.

We walked back around the boat to see Wesley plugging in a microphone to the karaoke speaker.

"Already setting it up?" Willa asked.

"Yup. Was about to come get you guys too." Wesley replied.

"Ok who's first?" Wesley said with a loud clap.

I took a seat next to Theo as Willa "volunteered herself as tribute" as she put it.

She started singing some Ariana Grande song. I saw Jax staring at her as she sang in adoration.

"Okay Kam you're up!" Willa yelled as she grabbed my hand and dragged me out of my seat.

"Wh-what?" I stuttered, stumbling after her.

"Go on." She said giving me a look of encouragement.

"Does it matter what song I play?" I asked shyly.

"No. Whatever you want." She said taking a seat next to Jax.
