Chapter 6

While in the dressing room a mess load of ladies came inside to help me get picture perfect, I had two working on my hair while one did my makeup, two others were going through different gowns to see which one I’d be wearing.

When I was finished with hair and makeup I went to go change. I was told we’d only be shooting one look so they brought in this beautiful silver dress that looked like it was a wedding dress with a few ripped up pieces here and there. I seriously could not believe how well it fit on me or how great I looked in it.

Just as I was heading out to the set I ran into my co-star in the hallway.

“Helllloooo” he said while trying to be smooth. He was at least a bit over 6 ft and very fit. He was wearing a tux with the under shirt being mostly unbuttoned which was showcasing his rock hard abs. “I’m James, and I’m gonna take a quick guess and say you’re my leading lady for this campaign.”

“What on earth gave it away? I said jokingly “It couldn’t possibly be my dress, could it?”

He was smiling and couldn’t help but let out a little chuckle. He had such a great smile as well. “Haha not at all, you’re just too beautiful to not be in this campaign”

“I’m really not, but thanks for the compliment” I said “I’m Rosie by the way.”

“Well nice to meet you Rosie. And yes you are beautiful.”

“Nice to meet you too.” I said practically blushing

“Well, shall we go to set”

“We shall” I said happily. Although I didn’t want to admit it I did kind of like James. He wasn’t at all conceited or obnoxious like many other models I had ever met before so I was glad I got to work with him.

As we headed up to set the photographer came up to us and gave us instruction on his vision for this campaign.

“Okay young ones, the perfume is called “Promise”, so my vision is basically two young adults who are madly in love with each other and are basically promising to love each other forever. They’ll never stray, not even to please the people around them who believe they shouldn’t be together. So can you two make that happen on camera?"

“Sure” James and I both said in unison

“Great now lets get to it” the photographer said.

The whole shoot was very Romeo and Juliet inspired, we had a balcony scene to work with and then we had a small little garden, James and I had allot of fun playing around with the flowers and throwing them at each other between shots. With every shot the photographer took he kept wanting us to get closer and closer. I thought I would’ve felt uncomfortable but every time I looked into James eyes he just made me feel safe. If things got a bit to awkward we would just laugh it off and get back to being seriously in love for the camera. I was doing fine; it wasn’t hard at all up until the photographer asked us to start kissing for some shots. I was caught off guard by that. I hadn’t ever kissed anyone since I had gotten with Nick. He was my everything and I felt as if though I’d be betraying him.

“Are you okay?” James asked. He noticed I got a bit tense.

“I’m fine, it’s just that I have a boyfriend and well I don’t know how he’ll feel about me kissing another guy…”

“Well it’s just acting, it’s not like you’re cheating on him…” James reassured me with his smile.

“Okay, you’re right.” I said returning a smile.

And then we returned to being photographed. As I looked into James eyes, I could see him leaning in to steal a kiss so I just closed my eyes and just left my feelings for nick aside at that moment. As his lips pressed up against mine I couldn’t help but feel a bit of a connection with James, his lips were so warm and perfectly molding with mine. He was quite a great kisser, we ended up in a full out make out sesh for 2 minutes but it felt never-ending. We were kissing in front of like over 30 people, but yet it didn’t feel like they were even there. The weirdest thing of all was that I didn’t want to stop kissing him, it even took me a second to process the fact that the photographer had said “cut” two times. Then I moved away from James as quickly as my brain let me process it.

“Great, that’s a wrap for today. You guys did great, I’ll see you in a week” the photographer said.

“Great” James and I said. We then went to go change back to our own clothes and started heading out.

“So I guess I’ll see you in a week” I said.

“Well actually I was hoping to see you sooner, you know, I don’t know if you’d like to go out sometime, maybe catch a show at the Hollywood Bowl? Just as friends of course since you do have a boyfriend.”

“I’d love to” I said.

“Cool, there’s this show going on there right now and my friend Carlos is in it, he always brags about how great he is and how everyone loves him, but he just started yesterday…”he said looking annoyed and shaking his head.

“Wait…Carlos…as in Carlos Pena?”

“Yeah, you know him?”

“Yes, he practically lives at my house when he’s trying to avoid you. Wow I’ve heard so much about you, but yet I guess what I heard from him seems like a lie, and I could say the same about what you’ve said about him.” I said staring him down.

“Yeah well I guess you could say we’re like any other roommates, we get annoyed by each other very easily and yet we are like brothers at the same time.” He smiled

“Yeah I guess. Well I better be getting home, my cousin's going to be worrying about me, I said I’d be home 20 minutes ago” I said laughing

“Cool, so I’ll see you Sunday night at 7:00?”

“Yeah” I said.

James pulled me in for a hug and then we went our separate ways “Goodnight!” He yelled

“Goodnight!” I said as I made my way to my car.

I couldn’t believe I had said yes. Of course I’d love to hang out with him but he was kind of a distraction from my boyfriend. I quickly convinced myself that the only reason I was so attracted to James was because I was still mad at Nick for ditching me last night. I just needed some air to clear out all thoughts from my head.
