Chapter 48 - Part Two

MAYA’S P.O.V.

            “Thank you,” I smiled up at Harry who placed our pumpkin on the table in front of us. The other guys followed and sat down next to the girls.

            “Now what are we going to carve?” Danielle asked out loud.

            “Oh I know,” Kayla smiled as she picked up the little carving tool.

            “We have to get all the seeds out first,” Niall reminded her.

            “Oh… right…” she mumbled, putting the tool down and sitting down.

            “I think I nominate the guys to do that,” I smiled at Harry who was standing next to me.

            He agreed and went to go get some knives for each pumpkin and big spoons to scoop out the, what Niall referred to as, pumpkin guts.

            “This is so gross,” I laughed as I started scooping out the seeds and making a pile on the newspaper. The other girls sat back as they watched the rest of the guys scooping out the seeds. Harry put his hands on my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder.

            “Are you alright there love?” he whispered, watching as I took a big spoonful of orange seeds and plopped it down on the top of the pile I was making.

            “Oh I’m doing so good,” I smiled and he wrapped his arms all the way around my waist, starting to nuzzle my neck.

            “Easy there Styles,” Louis laughed when he looked over at my husband.

            “Maya likes it,” he mumbled on the side of my neck while giving it small butterfly kisses.

            “I have pumpkin guts,” I took out another spoonful and showed it to him.

            “Fine I’ll stop,” he whispered, resting his head back on my chin.

            “Save it for later Harry,” Zayn teased as he continued cleaning out his and Camille’s pumpkin.

            “I think I will…” Harry whispered.

            “Oh god Harry,” Camille shook her head and pinched the bridge of her nose. I felt myself blushing as I continued spooning out the seeds.

            After a couple minutes, we finished cleaning out our pumpkins and were sitting down, ready to carve out designs. I was sitting on Harry’s lap and he was looking at the pumpkin, thinking about what to carve. He picked up our carving tool and started carving into the side of the pumpkin.

            “What are you doing?” I whispered.

            “Making angel wings,” he replied, kissing my cheek.

            “Hmm…” I hummed, taking the tool from him when he was done. I carefully carved out little devil horns and a tail, then afterwards, I made a heart in between them.

            “I love you,” Harry whispered in my ear before I wrapped one arm around the back of his neck and kissed his cheek.

            When everyone finished, I went into the kitchen cabinet to get the small candles for the insides of the pumpkins. We took them outside and put them on our front steps as I went around with a lighter to light the candle in each. We walked out onto the sidewalk to see them all together. Zayn and Camille had carved a witch hat and two car ears in theirs with a heart in the middle of them. The pumpkin next to theirs was Liam’s and Danielle’s and they’d carved a pocket watch and a small crown, again, with a heart in between them. Everyone’s had a heart in between the two carvings. Louis and Madeline’s pumpkin was on the step underneath theirs and they’d made a Frankenstein head with two bolts at the side of the neck and Frankenstein’s wife’s hair. Niall and Kayla’s pumpkin was opposite theirs and they had carved a top hat and a teacup. Harry’s and my pumpkin was on the top step with our angel wings and devil horns and tail. They all looked great actually.
