KAYLA’S P.O.V
I scrolled through my contacts, looking for my co-worker’s name while Niall put the extra bit of stir fry in a plastic container.
"Thanks again for dinner. It was really good," I said, looking up momentarily from my phone to look at Niall.
"You're welcome and thanks," he smiled, putting the container in the fridge. "Are you doing anything tonight?"
"Well, I'm gonna call Chelsea to ask if she has the binder with Zac's new line designs, but after that, no. Why?" I replied, looking back to my phone.
"'Cause I was wondering if you wanted to go see a play with me," Niall answered, putting the dirty dishes in the sink.
"Sure!" I responded happily, "Just let me call Chelsea, I'll only be about ten minutes."
"Take your time, the play starts at 7:30," he said before sitting down on the living room couch and turning the TV on.
I clicked on Chelsea's contact in my phone and put it up to my ear. She picked up and I asked if she had the binder with Zac's designs. She said she did and said they were really good, and had something with gold in it. I thanked her and mentally made a note to start wearing more gold from now on. Zac always liked his assistants to wear something along his taste in design. I said goodbye to Chelsea and we both hung up. I stood up, walked into the doorway of the living room, and smiled at the little mop of dark blonde hair that I saw resting on the side of the couch. As I got closer to the couch, I could see more of Niall lounging on the couch. He was spread across the three cushions and had his head on the arm rest. I walked up to the side of the couch, knelt down, put my hands on his cheeks, and turned his head towards me. His blue eyes met mine and we both smiled. I kissed his forehead and stood up.
"Ready to go?" he asked.
"I'm just gonna go change, I'll be right out," I answered, walking over to the second bedroom where all my stuff was.
I closed the door and walked over to the closet. I looked around before deciding on a pair of dark jeans, a light teal silk ruffle tank top, and my favorite peep-toe heels that that were tan with black lace over them with a thin piece of leather that wrapped around my ankle. Taylor had gotten me them when I graduated college. I slipped them on and hooked the strap shut. I walked over to my dresser and picked up my hair straightener and straightened my wavy dark blonde hair. I walked over to the door and swung it open to reveal Niall sitting on the couch in tan pants, a red polo, and a gray blazer. When I was about five feet from him, he looked up and smiled.
"Ready to go now?" he asked, turning off the TV and standing up.
"Yep, you changed," I remarked. "You look nice."
"So do you," Niall replied, his eyes wandering up and down my outfit.
I smiled before I grabbed my purse and stepped into the doorway of Niall's apartment. Niall was right behind me before his eyes widened and he started patting the pockets of his blazer.
