ONE MONTH LATER - MAYA’S P.O.V.

            I slowly made my way down the stairs from our bedroom and ended up in the foyer. I paused, waiting for the perfect moment to walk into the family room. I was getting butterflies in my stomach as I took a shaky step to my right. I saw Harry sitting on the couch.

            “Hello love,” he said smiling as I walked in.

            I smiled back and sat down next to him. I gave him a quick kiss hello and he wrapped his arm around my shoulders. I started watching whatever he had on TV before I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to tell him. I reached over him for the remote and shut the TV off.

            I looked at Harry and ran my hand through his hair. He leaned in to kiss me.

            When I pulled away, I smiled at him, “I-I have a surprise for you.”

            Harry grinned cheekily, leaning in to kiss me again, “Oh really?” he asked, shifting in his seat to face me more. He pulled some hair behind my ear, “And what might that be, my love?”

            I took a deep breath, trying to stop the butterflies in my stomach, “Well, I took the test today,” I paused to let him process this. I decided to stand up.

            “And…?” Harry asked. He sat up more and looked directly at me.

            “Guess who’s going to be a daddy soon?” I felt the corners of my lips curl into a smile.

            It took Harry a second to process this. Then his face completely lit up. I watched as his eyes widened and he gasped happily. His jaw dropped into a smile and he jumped up from the couch.

            “You’re serious?!”

            “Yes!” I exclaimed, grinning.

            Harry picked me up and spun me around, laughing the entire time. I giggled and he set me back down and kissed me.

            “You’re really going to have my child?” Harry asked, holding my face in his hands.

            “Yes,” I whispered, nodding. He immediately pressed his lips against mine. I don’t think I’d ever seen Harry so happy. His smile was so wide, revealing his dimples. He picked me up and held me in his arms.

            “I can’t believe I’m going to be a dad!” he exclaimed, kissing me again and then setting me down.

            I giggled as my husband kneeled down and held my stomach. He looked up at me, his eyes filled with joy. He pressed his ear against my belly and smiled.

            “I think I can hear you in there,” Harry said out loud, “Yes, I can. I love you.”

            I put my hand over my mouth and Harry stood back up. I smiled up at him cutely.

            “Excited?”

            “I’m as excited as any man can be. Thank you so, so, so, so much.” Tears came to both of our eyes. I sighed, not being able to come up with any words. The only thing I could do was to hug my husband and tell him how much I loved him.
