hannah's pov:

i felt a soft kiss press onto my shoulder and instantly knew it was grayson. i turned around in his arms and faced him.

i couldn't help but remember what happened last night.

"goodmorning." he mumbled. shivers traveled throughout my body. his morning voice is so fucking deep.

i traced his jaw with my finger as he ran his hand soothingly up and down my arm. we were constantly doing this. we always had to be touching each other, i noticed. just as friends.

"your mom came in earlier.. breakfast is ready." he said, continuing to rub my arm.

"okay let's get up. her pancakes are killer." i replied.

we both got out of bed together. he pulled on a soft white tee shirt and handed me his northwestern crew neck. i gladly slipped it on over my tank top.

we then made our way into the school's kitchen. our hands bumped against each other the entire walk.

after breakfast we got dressed into our bathing suits. he pulled on some white trunks while i put on a red and white stripped bikini. after all, today is the fourth of july.

i blatantly stared at his defined abs, drooling over my friend. little did i know he was doing the same thing.

we drove to the black rocks in my car, jamming out to his playlist. we both belted out the lyrics, not fazed by each other's questionable singing voices.

we spent the day jumping off the rocks hand in hand. that night we chased each other outside with sparklers. we then settled in by the bonfire, roasting marshmallows.

"i bet you i can make the perfect s'mores" he said. "back in jersey we made them almost every night."

"best s'mores my ass." i taunted

we both tried making the "perfect" s'mores. he ended up beating me but i was unbothered. we snuggled up together near the fire. his back lay against a chair while i rested in between his legs, my back meeting his chest. tomorrow we leave for jersey.
