Chapter 13-STILL THE ONE

(LOUIS POV)

"She is an amazing woman, isn't she?" Harry told me as we both stare at Audrey who is dancing with the other girls including Eleanor.  "I have never seen another woman as strong as her.  I mean when she decides on something she just do it."

"Yeah, she is awesome." Ironic as it may seem, but we are both talking about the same girl that I love and left; and the very same girl that my bestfriend might be falling for right now.

"She wasn't like that at all when I went to her that morning." Harry's voice cracked a little as he remembers that day.

I cringed as guilt and pain wash over me.  We haven't really talked about that at this level.  Harry and I used to be able to talk about anything under the sun.

"I was really mad at you for hurting her that way.  When I found her, She was like a walking dead person, functioning but empty." Harry continued relaying the uneventful scenario I caused.  "I had to bring her to hospital twice because of her anxiety attacks.   and don't even start with her dreams everyday. She used to wake up screaming your name in the middle of the night."  Harry looked at me, his green eyes full of pain and concern.

Guilt completely engulfed me as I listen to Harry.  I couldn't even reply anything because There is just no justification for what I have done to Audrey.

"But then one day, she just snapped out of it and decided that she doesn't want to be miserable anymore."  Harry focused on Audrey as he speaks, his green eyes intense with admiration."I don't know what triggered it but when she decided to move on, she just simply did.  It's like there was another person in front of me after that.  I mean with her new hair and all new attitude on her life." Harry chuckled, "I think that is one the reason why I got over my anger towards you, because somehow,even in a very painful way , you have made her stronger."

I just smiled weakly and stared at the woman I love deeply.  Now, I know that I have really lost her; that she lost all the love that she felt for me. I know her well that when she decides on something that she doesn't want in her life, she will do everything in her power to let it stay that way.

"I don't know the reason why you walked away from something great.but please, don't do it to her again.  If you can't stand up for her, then don't even bother making a move on her now." Harry told me frankly.  His feelings for her clearly expressed on his face.  He loves her too.  I can see it clearly now.  I never thought that Harry is capable of loving someone this much, to the point that he is selfless.  He probably can see the longing in my eyes for Audrey that is why he uttered thoae words.

Loneliness consumed me more.  I want her back but what Harry said is true.  There is always a big chance that I will hurt her that way again, especially if standing up for her will bring down a lot of people with me.  I really hate my fucking situation.

"Mates, Sophia is already sleepy and tired.  We have to go ahead." Liam and the rest of the group huddled around Harry and me.  All except Audrey, who is at the far end of the club talking to Niall as they look at some guitars.  She doesn't even want to be near me at all.

"I am feeling tired too.  Can we also go with them?" Eleanor asked me.

"Ok.I'll be driving you to the house.  Harry can we use your SUV."  I eyed Harry, "Will that be ok?" we were packed like sardines in my Rover on our way here. Harry's car is much roomier.

"Sure."Harry handed me his keys.

"Perrie and I will go with you so you'll have company when you drive back." Zayn grinned.

"nah.you go with him, I'll stay behind with Auds.  It's just a short drive anyway." Perrie gave Zayn a quick peck on the cheek and hopped away to Aud's corner.  Perrie is not really so fond of Eleanor according to Zayn so she tries to scoot out everytime she needs to be in close proximity with El.
