Wild

I'm running through the trees,
Racing through my memories,
They keep bringing me here, but this time
I'm not running from you, this time
I'm on the hunt,

I can smell you on the wind,
Howling, a sounding battle cry
You better watch out because here I come,
We aren't playing hide and seek anymore,
You thought you could get away with it,

I'm here to teach you a lesson,
I hoped it wouldn't come to this,
But I'm standing my ground, this time I
Won't back down,

In the starry night,
You can run from me but
Our roles have swapped tonight,
I'm the old prey become predator,
I'm a wild animal and I'm coming for you

Note: this poem is inspired by my awesome friend iceage18 's stories about wolves, you're an amazing writer and I hope to collaborate with you on a wolf story sometime.
