Daughter of the Sea

On the beach,
The sky aglow,
There is a girl,
Walking alone

Her careful footsteps,
Along the shore,
Washed away as if
There was nothing more,

Foreign to this land,
Her folk below,
Carrying her prints back,
To their home,

The water splashing between her toes,
She gazes out at the ocean shadows,
Spread out in front of her arise
To claim her back to their own.
