Like every other day, my eyes shot open at exact 6:30 in the morning. After doing my morning routine, I got dressed in my usual outfit, jeans and top and made my way towards the dining table where Dad was busy in a phone call with someone.

"Yes. This Saturday! You can meet me in my office today." he said and cut the call, turning his attention to me.

"Are you free this Saturday? I have decided to host a small party for our acquaintances in this city." He told me, passing the French toaststo me.

"That's great. I don't have any test this week so I'll help you in all the arrangements." I chirped, excited on hearing the news.

"I have a meeting with an event planner today. You can join me after your school if you want." he suggested and I agreed immediately.

"Great." he added and passed me a smile, after which both of us engaged ourselves in eating.

After finishing my breakfast, I kissed Dad on his cheeks, picked up the car keys and hurried outwards. In the street, Adam was already trying to start his bike. The events of last night flashed in front of my eyes, the frustrated look in his eyes, the words that stopped right in his mouth, everything.

His eyes swayed to me when he heard me opening the car door, a wave of indifference coated his face and he turned his attention back to his bike. Without speaking, I slid inside my car and revved the engine. With same level of aloofness, I drove past him, not bothering to offer him a lift.

Parking the car in the parking lot, I watched as another car stopped by me and Emily came out. I stooped down and looked at the driver seat, which happened to be occupied by Damien. A smirk made its way to my lips as I raised my eyebrows at Emily.

"My car broke down." she whispered shyly, pulling her hair back from her face.

"Of course." I smiled, as we both linked our arms and made our way towards the locker room.

"Its nice. You and Damien. I ship it." I said, earning a whiny groan from her.

"He is just a friend." she countered as we both unlocked our lockers.

"Who is just a friend?" Sophia joined our conversation and stood between both of us. She was dressed in her cheerleaders uniform, probably because there was a football match coming up.

"Nobody! Damien!" Emily and I shouted respectively.

"Damien? The singer guy?" she asked and I nodded. "Ooh.. Me likey." she giggled and walked towards her locker.

After teasing Emily for a good fifteen minutes, all three of us trudged towards our respective class. Mrs. Cooper had already arrived so I silently took a free seat and pulled out my notebook.

"Here are your assignments from the last week." Mrs. Cooper started returning our essay and surprisingly, I got an A, even though I didn't actually prepare for it.

The rest of the day went pretty well too, without any interaction with Adam or Noah. After the school, I drove the car to Dad's office. I found his secretary on the first floor who guided me to his room where his meeting was going on, with a pretty woman. She looked like she was in her late thirties and unlike those women who threw themselves at my father, she was talking in a really professional tone.

"Dad!" I called his name and both heads turned to me. The woman had dark blonde hair, her face looked like Taylor Swift except she had green eyes.

"Ali! Meet Hazel Davis. She is one of the best event planners in New York." Dad introduced her to me. "And Miss. Davis, this is my daughter, Alicia."
