Paige's Story

Breakfast the next day was awfully tense. Imagine sitting down and eating with people who tried to kill you. Everyone was there. Everyone but Cassidy and Kyla.

"So, how'd you all sleep last night?" Lincoln asked, stuffing his face with toast.

There was silence for a moment before Minho decided to respond.

"I slept pretty well. I don't know about anyone else."

"I did too," Changbin shrugged. "Paige? How was your sleep?"

"Splendid," she mumbled, keeping her gaze down at her plate. There were a bunch of bandaids and bruises on her face which was pretty hard to ignore but at least everyone tried their best not to stare.

"How's the bullet hole?" Changbin asked before turning to I.N and Woojin as well. "All of you."

I.N pulled up his sleeve to reveal a bandage in the middle of his upper arm.

"Hurts but it's getting better," he explained.

"That's good," Changbin smiled. "Woojin and Paige, you probably still can't feel yours because I injected pain relievers around the areas again this morning but is there any bleeding?"

They both shook their heads.

"Chan," Minho called. "Feeling any better?"

He glanced up, nodded slightly then went back to his plate.

"This is what I feared," Lincoln sighed, running a hand through the curly mess on his head.

"What is?" Changbin asked.

"The Rebellion. They're making us turn on each other... Chan, Woojin or I.N, please any of you, tell me who recruited you. And why did you accept?"

None of them budged.

Minho lost it.

"Look, I don't care whether we got ourselves involved with the Society, at the end of the day we are still a mafia. We are still brothers and remember the number one rule? No one gets left behind. If we are in the wrong or you guys are, someone has to pull the others to the right side. You guys joined the Rebellion and Changbin and I are the furthest into the Society. We need to pick a side for all of us to be in. So tell us, which is the right side the Rebellion, or the Society. What about the Society do we not know about that you guys do?"

No response.

"Boys, listen. We aren't throwing you out nor are we looking down on you. We want to know. The Society is a crazy thing. If we are in the wrong tell us so we convert to the Rebellion," Minho tried reasoning.

"Chan recruited me," I.N uttered. "He told me about the history of most Society members eventually dying while the Rebellion looks out for its members. I didn't want to die. He also told me about how corrupt the Society once was and how it's possible you guys could be using us. I tried to back out a while ago but it wasn't possible."

Lincoln turned deadly serious.

"Did you get any marks on your skin or make any blood oaths? Any of you?"
