A/N: It's been a while, but it's an update yay :D

"And because it's so different it'll have to be a bonus track," Kevin tells Kirstie. "And we need to get someone in to do some backing vocals for it before it's finished anyway."
"Well no one but Avi could sing back up for me on that one, anyone else and it just wouldn't feel right," she shrugs. "Like even if I don't finish it before he gets back like I wanted to, I don't care because it has to be his voice," she is so sure of herself that Kevin can't help but nod along.
"Okay then, I did like having that deadline, keeps the executives off my back... not to mention they'll be happier with the country song if you get this album ready before schedule," he prompts.
"I'm not doing this without Avi's voice."
"Scott Hoying is just down the hall."
"No!" She snaps, "Avi's voice or I don't do anymore work until he gets back. I will literally get on a plane and join him on tour."
Kevin sighs, "I'll figure it out, or you can call him because he's more likely to answer your call."
     Kirstie grins, "Perfect."

###

Kirstie paces the hallway with her phone to her ear, she knows Avi is a difficult person to get a hold of but this is ridiculous. This is the sixth call and it goes to voicemail too, she doesn't bother leaving more than one because she doesn't know if he knows how to check his voicemail. But she does leave a few texts on the off chance he'll reply to them. She just wants his vocals for god's sake! Kevin reckons that Avi can get into a studio in Tennessee and record and send it to her before he gets back, which would be 100 percent ideal, if they could get a hold of him. Because it absolutely has to be Avi's voice, Kirstie will not let it be anyone else or the song won't go on the album.
And that's when it hits her; this song isn't going on the album. She hung up the seventh call mid-ring, who were they kidding, he isn't going to pick up. Kirstie rushes to find Kevin, not in the recording studio where she left him but in his office instead.
"Did you get a hold of Avi?" He asks hopefully.
"No I didn't, I had a different idea," she starts rummaging through a pile of what looks like sheet music on his desk.
He jumps up, his rolling chair flying backwards, "Kirstie, what do you think you're doing?"
"I'm gonna bite my tongue Kev. I'm gonna bite my tongue and sing those last two songs May wrote for me, finish the album and release No One Needs to Know as a tour track."
Kevin is too quiet for too long and Kirstie doesn't like it, she isn't patient. It hits her like a tonne of bricks, he thinks she's an idiot.
     "I love it."
     "Fucking what!"
"Language," Kevin chuckles, "It's a really good idea Kirstie, it's perfect even. A country song would have really thrown the vibe of the album, unless you'd previously done a pop version and the country was a remix-"
     "Nope."
"And I knew that, I knew that wasn't what you wanted. And I knew we'd have some arguments about it, but I'm glad that we won't. This is a far superior idea," he smiles.
     She smiles back, "Thank you."
     Her phone rings.
"Well now that we've sorted this that'll be Avi," he sits back down.
"Where are the songs May wrote, I want to get started on them now. I'll call Avi back," she double checks to make sure it is him calling, it is, "Make him wait this time."
"Nah, answer it Kirst, you might not be able to get a hold of him later, or worse: the amount of times you've called him he might think something is wrong. He's got a show tonight; don't make him go on stage thinking that. Answer while I find the songs," he gets up from his desk once more.
Kirstie does as he suggests stepping out of the room to take the call.
"What's wrong?" Is out of his mouth before she can say hello.
"Well hello to you too," she smiles, of course Kevin was right.
     "Hi, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, great, better than ever."
     "Is that sarcasm?"
     "No."
"Then why did you call me six times Kirst? I was really worried."
"Because I needed a voice for a track, for No One Needs to Know, but I'm not putting it on the album now,"
     "Just because I didn't answer?"
"No, I'm going in a different direction now, or maybe I should say the same direction as all my previous albums."
"You're gonna make the song pop? I th-"
She interrupted him, "I'm going to release the song as a tour single so it has licence to be as different as I want it to be. And the last two songs on the album are gonna be the ones May wrote."
"And then your next album will be all you?"
"Exactly," she smiled at that he understood.
"That's not the worst idea," he chuckles.
"Yeah, so sorry for freaking you out."
     "Nah it's okay."
"How's your tour going?" She didn't realise how much she's been missing him until she heard his voice and she just wants him to keep talking about everything, nothing, she didn't care, as long as he keeps talking she won't cry, how pathetic right? It's only been two days.
