His Gryffindor, Her Slytherin

Chapter Thirty-Four- Draco's POV

I avoided Hermione and even Divinia for a couple of weeks. I solely focused on fixing the vanishing cabinet until just after the Quidditch game. I was in the corridor when I saw Hermione running out of the Gryffindor common room, crying. I tried fighting the urge to follow her, but it was heart wrenching to see the one I loved in such distress so I went after her. I saw Harry sat beside her and she was crying on his shoulder. It must've had something to do with Lavender because I heard her irritating squeals.

I wanted to comfort her. Truly. I waited until Harry left and walked to Hermione.

"Hermione. What happened?" I asked her.

She wiped her eyes, which were still brimming with tears.

"Ron is dating our worst enemy. Lavender. It hurts that one of my closest friends is dating that excuse for a human!" She raged, tears spilling.

I sat beside her and put an arm around her.

"It's ok. You don't have to focus on them. Focus on Divinia and yourself. Please don't be too upset. It's tearing me apart too, but I know what I'm doing," I told her.

Her trusting gaze fixated upon me.

"I know. Thanks Draco," she said, resting her head on my shoulder.

I stroked her locks and then got up.

"You get some rest. Please. I'll see you soon," I responded.

She got up and walked off and I watched her bob away, curls bouncing gently with every step.

It was inwardly crushing to see the love of my life walking away. I had to protect her. I just had to. She would only get hurt in the end. She trusted me, blindly going into what she thought was going to be easy, but my guess was it was just as hard for her to comprehend as well. I loved her but I had to lose her completely for a little while. I just had to.

A/N: next two or four chapters will probably just be fillers to be honest until I get to the bit where the Death Eaters get to Hogwarts! I'll include the Sectumsempra part and a few segments of my own, including the Ron and Lavender break up, the Slug Club party, and then it'll be the part we all wanna see, the death eater invasion! Damn, I've had so many ideas for this book! I'm sad though because we only have Deathly Hallows Part One and Two to do technically for the storyline of this book as this book pretty much only takes place at Hogwarts hence the title His Gryffindor, Her Slytherin, And we all know those are the Hogwarts houses! Along with Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, they get neglected a little though. Anyways, yeah. I am thrilled to say that I will definitely be doing a sequel to this book! It's basically Hermione and Draco in a muggle world obviously Draco getting used to the muggle life, they will get married, more children, all that Jazz!
