———————————<3———————————

it was 4 pm, three more hours and you'll have to meet link at the training grounds.

you were getting really nervous, but excited.

you wondered about what he wanted to see you for, but decided to stop, just in case your mind wandered off a little too far...

you were tending the gardens you were assigned to and you couldn't help but steal a few glances at the training ground below you. link wasn't there, he was out with the princess. you saw all the guards and knights-in-training wipe sweat off their faces and chat to one another.

"they must be finished training! link should be here soon..."

you started to feel yourself get all giddy and you couldn't help but smile. your expression then changed ultimately as you stared off into the garden. your mind then started to think about negative thoughts and you found yourself worrying about your little meet-up. what if link wanted to tell you off? what if he was going to be mean to you? no, he was too nice--

"hey, y/n."

you jumped and spun around, only to face a familiar face.

"h-hey, judo."

-

"you seem...nervous. are you alright?"

you nodded and touched your right cheek with your palm. it was burning hot!

"did i scare you?"

-

"h-huh? oh, yeah a little. i thought you were--never mind."

judo eyed you suspiciously but shrugged.

"anyway, i just came to check up on you. to see h-how you're doing..."

he smiled meekly at you and grinned.

"i wouldn't mind some company for a little while, i suppose."

you and judo talked and talked about anything that popped into either of your heads. you were getting close to judo and thought about telling him about how you felt towards link. judo seemed trustworthy enough, so you decided to tell him.

"h-hey, judo. i kinda--"

another voice cut you off.

"y/n?"

you looked over to the entrance of the gardens and made eye contact with the most beautiful blue eyes you've ever seen.

"link! u-um--"

judo turned, eyes widening. what did link want with you?

the black haired hylian faced link and stood straight. he watched link's every move as he started to walk closer to you and you felt your cheeks burning. judo bowed slightly when the champion stood right in front of you two.

"master link. what brings you here?"

-

"..."

the blonde knight chose not to say anything and he simply walked next to your side, getting a little too close.

judo stared at the blonde, never breaking eye contact and you questioned his behaviour to yourself.

"judo? i'll catch you later?"

judo's eyes darted to yours, his expression softening. he nodded and walked away as you turned your head. you realised how close you were with the champion and your cheeks turned bright red.

link smiled slightly, and walked off down the stone stairs that led into the training grounds. you followed and tried to shake your nervousness away. you watched the hylian in blue, walking across the grounds and eventually stopping in front of the stone walled-fence that gave a nice outlook onto castle town below. you stood behind him.

"s-so, did you need me for anything, o-o-or...?"

link turned around, the sun behind him giving him a holy glow. the sight of him wrapped around in the golden rays of the sun made you gape at him. he looked like a hero sent from above.

"...i wanted to ask you something."

link's deep and clear voice made you shiver, you gulped and nodded slowly.

"s-sure, what was it?"

the champion took a deep and silent breath, his eyes watching you.

"you're from hateno village, right?"

you nodded. what was this leading to?

"did you...perhaps...know a couple...looking for someone?"

you placed a finger on your chin, and thought for a moment.

"i-i don't think so...why?"

link looked down slightly, his bangs covering his eyes. he turned around and looked below at castle town.

"don't worry about it then."

you sensed sadness wash over him and you realised that you were slowly walking over to him. you stood by his side and placed your arms on the stone wall. your eyes never leaving link.

"link...are you talking about your parents?"

the blonde hylian grew stiff and he gazed at you with wide eyes. he then calmed down, his frame slouching and he copied your position. he crossed his arms over the stone and looked away.

"yeah..."

you felt confident and you decided to do something quite bold. you shuffled closer to link, elbows nearly touching and you carefully placed a hand on his forearm. link hesitated and stood still, his ocean eyes widening at your movements.

"link, if you ever need anyone to talk to, just know t-that you can always come to me f-for advice...if you want t-to of course! you don't have to, i just thought that--"

-

"that actually would be really appreciated, i don't really have anyone to talk to about topics like this, not even princess zelda. i thinks she dislikes me...thank you, y/n. really."

you blushed, a red tint covering your pointy ears and nose and cheeks. link chuckled slightly and watched the sun starting to set and turn the yellow and white sky into a light pink and orange one. you took your hand away and stared at the golden sun and smiled at yourself. you and link watched the scenery in a comfortable silence.

link glanced at you every now and then, a pink hue on his cheeks.
