CHAPTER 19
SANDRA.
"Good morning honey?"
Oscar is already awake.
"Morning dear."
I reply.
"You've been in and out of bed this morning. Anything the matter?"
He asks, concern written over his face.
"I'm alright dear."
"You've been vomiting for a week now. I think we need to see a doctor!"
"No need for that dear, it's something I ate on school yesterday, but I've taken some pills!"
I lie, because I already know what I've done!
I've already confided into Angela and she swore to keep her mouth sealed!
I'm yet to inform Oscar. I know I'm doing things against his wish but I so want this to happen. I just can't help it! It will be my wedding night gift to Oscar.
These days he takes me to school because he doesn't want anything to happen to me.
When he told me about the betrayal in his office, I felt pain.
I'm willing to help but I don't know how.
Having a chief accountant, who ends up betraying you is painful.
I'm in support of his dismissal but when Oscar tells me how much he begged to be forgiven, I can't help but feel for him.
I've met him severally in Oscar's office and he looks like a decent person.
The exams are already over and I've nothing to do except helping Angela in house chores.
The wedding is around the corner and Oscar has assured me that everything is already planned.
I can't believe that I'm getting married at 19.
Oscar seems happy about the whole marriage arrangement.
Days drag themselves and the d-day is here. I'm beyond myself with happiness. Though somehow tensed, I give myself courage.
Mum and Oscar's parents are already in the city, ready to witness our union.
Funny enough, Oscar is the only child, just like me.
We have a lot in common.
With the Sasha story half buried, we've no cares on the world. Oscar had told Alfred to warn her never to be seen anywhere near us if she didn't want him to send the police after her.

The wedding is over and we're off to our honeymoon destination. Oscar told me its a private place and he just wants me to keep guessing.
He has all plans in place, having booked a flight in advance. I can't wait for us to be there so that I may break the news to him.
"Wake up honey. We're already here!"
The plane has landed and everybody is alighting.
The breeze emacing from the sea is cool. We're at the seashore, relaxing with my better half.
I gathered enough courage last night after I threw up immediately we got into the executive hotel room.
Oscar was concerned therefore he asked me whether I was alright that's when I showed him my arm.
"I don't understand honey! This is where the Norplant was inserted!"
"Calm down honey......the Norplant is no longer there!"
"Why? How? I mean, where is it?"
"I had it removed. I was gaining a lot of weight and I also wanted my own kid.....our kid!"
I try to explain.
"You did all these without informing me? Don't you think you're risking your education? What if you get pregnant?"
"Education can wait honey! Deferring ain't a big deal anyway!"
"If you say so honey! I can't wait to have a baby with you, you know!"
The idea excites him all over a sudden.
"That's why I love you honey. Now that I don't have any virginity to gift you on our wedding night, just close your eyes, I have a surprise for you!"
"You're full of surprises honey! I can't get enough of you. Why can't we just shower and go to the hotel lobby and have our dinner then you come and show me the surprise?"
"No honey, it can't wait. After all, we can always call for room service! That way I'll be able to feed you, away from prying eyes!"
I add, giggling cheekily.
"Just giggle honey....my eyes are closed waiting for the surprise!"
I rush to the bathroom with my kit which is safely tucked in one of my boobs.
"You're taking too long honey! Can I come for you?"
Oscar shouts from outside.
"Just a minute Honey. I'm coming!"
Two red lines are evidently displayed on the strip.
I smile with satisfaction as I get back to the room.
His eyes are closed, facing my direction.
One hand is behind, and the other one waves at his face to make sure he's closing his eyes.
"Now open your eyes babe!"
He comes face to face with the strip and as he scrutinises closely, his eyes lit up in amusement.
Before I can register what's happening, he sweeps me off my feet and swirls me round, kissing me repeatedly.
"I knew it! I knew it! All that vomiting and sudden change in mood! Choosing food and hating your favourite! I knew it!"
He places me on the bed, showering me with kisses!
"I love you baby.....I love you! Thanks for the great news!"
His excitement is beyond measure. He's genuinely happy.

Our stay at the coast ain't that long because Oscar has some businesses to attend to back in the city.
I enjoy every single day, with Oscar treating me like an egg....
