It would never quite make sense to me, that I, a girl who liked facts and was fascinated by the easy rules of the animal kingdom, would find a boy who broke all of those rules and decide that he was mine and I was his.
Connor.
He was average.
Well, as average as someone could be when they could shed their human skin and sprout fur, as quickly as a cheetah could run one hundred metres.
Cheetahs can run one hundred metres in 5.95 seconds.
It was easy to overlook his quirks though. Especially when his touch sparked my skin like a fire doused in petrol, his blue eyes drowned my pretences and flooded my heart with happiness.
Discovering that in my safe, little world, wolf and human hybrids existed had melted my brain and turned it to mush. Although discovering that when Connor said he loved me and would only love me forever, wasn't just a euphemism, it forced the mush back together and gave me clarity. The kind of clarity that made me realise that I loved him so much, that it pained me.
So why does this story end with him leaving me?
