Before Connor met Kate, he lived a simple life as an Omega in the Tellsman Pack.
Kate, was as normal as a university student could be.
Neither one of them had any idea that meeting one another would unravel a dangerous series of events.
What Kate...

It took weeks for Kate's bruise to begin to fade. We were both on Uni break and her boss hadn't allowed her to come back to work yet, so I took advantage of the spare time and spent every second I could with her. I'd barely been home, my lies to my family were getting sloppy but Noah and Selene had been a great scapegoat. Well, Noah was a terrible liar but Selene had turned out to be pretty good at it. I'd been avoiding Elijah and Adrian as well, I didn't want to leave my little bubble in the human world to deal with everything back at the pack. Unfortunately, a very pissed off voicemail message left by Elijah this morning had popped my little bubble.
I'd felt different lately, like standing up to Nessa had changed me monumentally. Sometimes, after Kate had fallen asleep I'd snuck off into the dark alleyways behind her house, and shifted. It was stupid and dangerous, too risky that I'd get caught but it almost felt as if my wolf was scratching it's claws at the walls of my mind, begging to be let out or threatening to use those claws to tear a part my mind.
Releasing my arms from around Kate and forcing myself to leave her bed was one of the hardest things I'd ever had to do. My absence in the bed woke Kate up with a start, which surprised me, the girl could sleep through a hurricane. "Where are you going?" She asked with half slitted eyes and a groggy voice.
"I have to go home baby, I haven't been home all week." I pressed a kiss to the corner of her mouth, knowing that actually touching her lips would have me crawling back under the covers with her. I traced my fingers gently over the barely there bruise on her left cheek. Her lashes fluttered, she almost fell back asleep at the touch. With a sigh I pulled away from her and busied my hands with instead finding my pants on the floor and taking a twenty dollar note from my wallet. "Money for the bus," I said, forcing open her hand, pressing the money into her palm and then closing her fist. "In case you want to get out of the house today."
Kate hadn't left the house at all since her fight with Nessa. She seemed to be avoiding her life just as much as I was. "I can afford to pay for a bus Con." She mumbled, closing her eyes as she stretched out the hand that held the money in it towards me. I only closed her hand again and kissed her knuckles.

Arriving at the pack was a reminder to me of how much time I'd let pass without being home. Autumn was ending, leaves that were once turning colours of dark greens and crinkling brown were now dying leaf litter beneath my feet. Winter was almost here, the most difficult season for the pack, bone freezing temperatures and buckets of rain. Most of us wouldn't be able to let our wolves out for weeks, tensions would be high. I parked just outside of the packhouse, the familiar image of the large building covered in twisted vines and surrounded by thick trees. The scents of my pack were comforting but there was one scent among them, that stank of power and anger. Elijah was pissed, I was in for an ass kicking. I followed his scent around to the backyard where a group of burly looking wolves were warming up and small talking, Elijah stood amongst them, looking over the higher wolves, most of who I didn't recognise. The wind picked up as I entered and I watched Elijah's nostrils flare as he caught my scent and whipped his head around to look at me. His stern glare caught the attention of wolf's around him and they too glared at me, looking displeased to see an Omega in their presence.
