Josh and Jordan walked down the sidewalk, Jim on a leash that Josh was holding. It had been pretty nice out the past few days and Josh hoped the weather stayed like this for his first game tomorrow. He was nervous but his whole family made sure to take the night off to support him. He wished Tyler was going to be there too but he didn't think he could convince Kelly to let him go to a game. At least not yet.

He had gotten back from church with Tyler a few hours prior and was itching to do something other than sit in a pew and listen to John talk about the Bible. So that's why he decided to take Jim on a walk, Jordan wanting to tag along.

"I need advice," Jordan admitted, shoving his hands in his pockets as the three turned right at the corner.

"On?"

"Girls."

"Uhh..." Josh made a face. "I can try my best to help you. I haven't exactly had a girlfriend in over two years but I can try."

"So I think I want to dump Hannah tomorrow at school."

"Hannah? I thought you were dating Maia."

"No Maia was two girlfriends ago, before Aliyah and Willow."

"The fuck? When did you date Maia?"

Jordan was silent for a moment. "Beginning of December..."

"You've gone through four girlfriends in the past four months?" Josh asked in disbelief.

"Okay well technically three because I haven't dumped Hannah yet."

"You're a whore, Jordan. I'm gonna call you Whoredan."

"Don't," Jordan groaned as Josh laughed.

"Why are you dumping her?" Josh asked seriously.

Jordan shrugged. "I don't know. It doesn't feel right. That's why I dumped everyone else. None of the relationships felt right."

"Maybe you're gay."

Jordan let out a snort.

Josh gave him a look. "Okay I obviously don't have anything against gay people," Jordan rolled his eyes as he spoke. "But I think I'd know if I were gay earlier in life."

"I didn't realize I was bi until last year," Josh pointed out. "And you're saying none of the relationships you've had with girls have felt right. What do you think of guys?"

"Uh..." Jordan paused for a moment to think as they crossed the street. "I don't know. I've never thought about them in a more than friendly way before."

"Think about it now. See what comes to mind."

Jordan was silent for a moment and Josh watched as his little brother thought for a moment. Suddenly, he grimaced and shook his head. "Nah, thinking of doing anything with a guy weirds me out. I think I just haven't found a girl I actually like."

"Okay, thanks for being open to the idea," Josh said sincerely. "Just don't break the heart of every girl in your grade trying to find the one," he teased. "You should probably take a break from a relationship after this. Focus on math."

"Ew, dating Tyler's made you care about school."

"Hey, he helped me bring my grade up two letters to a B average. Also leave him alone."

"How are things going? With him?" Jordan asked.

Josh smiled. "Really good. I like him a lot. He amazes me more and more every day. It's only been two months but things feel so right with him, y'know?"

"You seem happier," Jordan pointed out. "I mean not like you were depressed before but you just seem like you have an extra bounce in your step. And you light up every time you talk about him."

Josh blushed. "Yeah, he's special."

The two were cut off with Jim stopping and going over to a fire hydrant, sniffing at it before lifting his leg and peeing.

Josh and Jordan shared a look before laughed. "Let's get you home, Jimmy. You can have a treat for being such a good boy."

"What if we're living in a simulation?"

"Brendon..."

"No think about it," the mentioned sat up and got an excited look on his face. "I saw this post that said that someone sent their sims to university and they all got degrees in computer science and proved they were living in a simulation. Think about it."

"One, neither of us have gone to college and have degrees in computer science," Josh replied. "Two, we're both too sober for this conversation."

Brendon let out a laugh causing Josh to smile. "That's true."

Josh's bedroom door opened and Abbie walked in, a defeated look on her face. "Bub, can you open this for me?" She asked, holding out a bottle of red nail polish.

"Sure."

He cracked it open with ease and she frowned.

"Thank you."

"Do you wanna paint my nails?" He asked back.

Abbie's whole face lit up. "Really?"

Josh let out a laugh. "Sure, sit in front of me. Brendon don't say anything stupid with my little sister in the room."

"Everything I say is stupid. I can't promise that."

The three laughed as Abbie sat criss cross in front of Josh and he stuck his hand out in front of her. "How was Molly's?" He asked, referring to who she spent the night before with.

Abbie shrugged. "It was fine. Nothing special."

"What did you do?"

Abbie glanced at him. "Any reason why you're interrogating me?"

Josh gasped and looked at Brendon. "You're kinda interrogating her, Dad."

"I am not interrogating her!" He looked back at Abbie. "I'm just trying to be a good big brother and ask how her night went."

"How did your night go?" Abbie asked. "With Tyler?"

Brendon's eyes widened. "Tyler spent the night?"

Josh smiled. "Yeah."

"Did you guys—"

"No, but even if anything did happen I can't tell you. It's an invasion of his privacy and I need to respect his privacy. All we did was kiss."

Brendon huffed. "I tell you about when Dallon and I have sex."

"No one asks to hear it! You just kinda say it," Josh paused. "Also fuck off, my little sister's in here."

"It's okay," Abbie assured. "I've heard him talk about him and Dallon sleeping together. He's a loud talker."

"This is Brendon slander," Brendon mumbled causing the two to laugh again.

Abbie finished his nails and Brendon had to go home about half an hour after that. It was nearing ten thirty when Josh started getting ready for bed. It was hard for him to fall asleep with the nerves from his first game but he knew he had support even if things didn't go good. His family was going to be there and he knew Tyler would still be supporting him from his house.

Josh was perfectly okay with that.
