He sent his phone face down and resumed towel drying his hair the best he could. He already had his pajamas on and all he had to do was hang his towel up before going to bed.
The door opened and Kelly poked her head in. "Getting ready for bed?"
"Yeah."
His mom stretched her hand out. "I'll hang your towel up. It's almost eight."
Tyler handed the said item to her. "Thank you."
"Goodnight, Tyler," she paused. "I love you."
Tyler wanted to scoff. But he didn't. He just nodded. "Goodnight, Mother. I love you too."
Kelly turned the light off with a smile and shut the door. Tyler went back to his phone with a confused look on his face.

Something is wrong with my mother.

She said she loved me before she told me goodnight.
