A few days ago, Grady and Kaitlyn got married at the courthouse after they met with a social worker to get started on fostering a baby.

Kaitlyn never wanted to get married there. Ever since we were little, she had been talking about having a big fairytale wedding with a big white wedding gown.

When I was her witness at the courthouse for their marriage license, I could tell she was sad about it, but she wanted to be married quickly so they could have it done in time to move forward with fostering a baby.

Gerald and I were at Grady and Kaitlyn's house helping him throw together a party in the backyard to celebrate the wedding. Rosie's car seat was sitting on top of the picnic table, and she was sleeping soundly inside of it.

"Why am I hanging up these lights?" Gerald complained as he stood on the other end of the table to tie one end onto the tree. "Why can't you do it?"

"I'm only a little over five feet tall if you haven't noticed," I laughed as I swept the fallen leaves off of the concrete patio. "You're the only one who's tall enough to get up there."

"Yeah, shortstack," Gerald chuckled as he got down and went over to the other tree to finish hanging up the lights. "Where's Grady? This is his party."

"He went to go pick up the food," I said as I set the broom down. "So we need to make sure we get this done."

Gerald picked up the next string of fairy lights while I went inside to get the vases that were waiting for me on the table. I brought them outside and set one in the middle of the picnic table, two on the deck and the other ones spread out along the backyard.

"Where are the flowers that we picked up on the way here?" I questioned with a laugh seeing Gerald on a ladder. "Did you bring them inside?"

"They're in Grady and Kait's room," he answered, his words muffled by the string that was in his mouth. "You told me to hide them in case Kaitlyn came home early."

I told Gerald to keep an eye on Rosie as I went upstairs to grab them. There were a few bundles of sunflowers and a few bundles of roses - both of them were Kaitlyn's favorite flowers.

When I returned, Gerald had Rosie out of her car seat and was sitting on top of the table feeding her a bottle.

"Somebody got hungry," he laughed as he looked down at her. "I used the bottle that had yesterday's date on it. I figured you wanted me to use the rest of that first."

I was pumping breastmilk for Rosie every couple of days, and if I didn't use it in time, then I froze it. Gerald was doing a good job remembering what to use first, and it made it easier on me.

"That's okay," I said as I stood in front of him, watching him feed Rosie. "She sure is hungry," I laughed as I turned around hearing someone come through the door.

"I'm finally back with all the food!" Grady cheered. "Wow, it looks great out here, guys."

We helped Grady move things around and place all the table cloths, plates, and silverware before setting up the rest of the food. People started arriving, so we knew we only had a short amount of time before Kaitlyn was home.

Gerald took Rosie while I changed and got ready, and then it was my turn to take her.

"Damn, that ass is fat tonight," he said as he smacked it. "Has it been six weeks yet?"

"No, Gerald," I sighed as I rolled my eyes. "Don't my blowjobs do anything for you?"

"Yeah," he laughed as he changed shirts. "But it's not the same as being inside you and making you scream."

I rolled my eyes again as I changed Rosie's diaper and picked her back up, rocking her gently.

"You are disgusting," I said with a laugh as I followed him out of the room. "I hope you can contain yourself at the party."

We were outside for only a couple of minutes when Grady rushed out to turn the music down.

"Okay, everyone!" He said, getting our attention. "Kait is pulling up the driveway! Be quiet until I bring her out!"

He left again and returned a couple of minutes later with his hands over her eyes.

"Grady, I don't really want to see your new grill right now," she said with a laugh. "I have some training to do for wo-"

"SURPRISE!" We all yelled as he took his hands off of her eyes.

"Oh, my God!" She screamed with a laugh as she covered her mouth with her hands. "What's all this, Grady?"

He stood in front of her, holding his hands on her hips as he kissed her lips gently.

"I knew you were sad about getting married at the courthouse," he said as he rested his forehead on hers. "But I threw together a little party to celebrate our new marriage and lives as Mr. and Mrs. Grady Brannan."

"Grady!" She laughed, causing all of us to laugh. "This is...wow," she said as she kissed him before pulling away to look at the group of people. "Thank you all for coming!"

Kaitlyn squealed when she saw me, Gerald and Rosie standing at the front of the group and ran down the stairs to come hug me.

"Did you help him put this together?!" She asked excitedly as she hugged me before bending down to say hi to Rosie in my arms. "This is beautiful!"

"Yeah, how else do you think these lights got up there?" Gerald said with a smirk as I smacked his arm. "Really though, congratulations, Kaitlyn. I hope you and Grady get the chance to become foster parents."

"Thank you, Gerald," she smiled as she hugged him tightly before pulling away. "That was so sweet of you."

We talked for a couple of minutes before Kaitlyn moved on to go say hi to some of her other friends that had shown up to the party.

Grady came over to us with a red solo cup in his hand and took a drink before saying something.

"Thank you guys for helping me put all of this together in such short notice," he said as he hugged each of us. "It means a lot that you're supporting us in all of this."

"Of course, brother," Gerald said after hugging him. "You're my best friend. I'd do anything for you. I really hope this all works out for you."

I smiled at them while I gently bounced Rosie in my arms. My eyes were focused on Gerald, and I smiled again because I knew he was finally changing.

He was finally becoming the man that he's always wanted to be for me.
