"Tonight"

Luke’s POV

I've got these letters tattooed on my arm

That remind me each second of where I come from

And the long hard road to get me back home

 

Back to my mama who raised me up right

And back to my lady who I held every night

It's a long hard road trying to get home

 

I'd been gone now for too long

The song fades out when I walk down the hall, and peek into Cassidy’s room.

Nope.

Not in here.

I walk into the kitchen to see her swaying by the stove, brown hair spilling around her shoulders and back.

There she goes, there she goes, there she goes

There's nothing better than my beautiful woman

Even though, even though, even though

It's not always heaven, we still fly together

Making my way to her side, “Hey,” my voice comes out like a squeaky little boy going through puberty.

Great start Luke.

Very smooth.

She grins at me, and turns back to the pot of boiling water, “Hey.”

I shove my hands into my pocket, picking at the cotton inside.

To me you are more than just skin and bones

You are elegance and freedom and everything I know

So come on and...

I spent a long time thinking in the tub.

Way past the point of wrinkled fingers.

Baby let your hair down

Let me run my fingers through it

We can be ourselves now

Go ahead, be foolish

No one's on the clock now

Lying in this simple moment

But...

Since it’s the holidays, and “You Promised” is almost done...

I’ll be updating the story everyday until Christmas :D

So on Christmas Eve (*cough* my birthday *cough*), the last chapter would be out!

There will be an epilogue, I promise! (Haha, no pun intended).

I’m hoping that I’ll officially complete this story before the end of 2014 :)

So I won’t make you guys wait TOO long.
