The baby was still very small. He was sound asleep. The short strands of hair that were growing from his head had a red tint to them.

"Is this...?" I asked Psykos. She nodded quickly. "You lied to me about taking the medicine?"

"Yeah." She said, showing no form of regret. "I'll leave you alone with him for a while."

"Does he have a name?" I asked.

"It's up to you." She smiled. It looked slightly forced, but she walked away before asking. She closed the door behind her. I looked down at the boy. I slowly picked him up. I wrapped the small blanket around him. I sat down on the bed next to the crib and held him in my arms.

I saw his small eyes slowly open. He showed off his bright purple eyes. Even in the dark, it seemed to light up the room. I saw his small hands go towards his mouth as he began to suck on it. He showed off some sharp teeth. Not sharp like mine was... but sharper than a normal person. I began trying to think of a name.

"I think a simple name could work." I said to myself. "How about Jacob?" The baby smiled and reached for my face. I smiled and leaned into his small hand. I then felt weird. I saw that the bed had a purple outline and was floating. The purple outline also surrounded Jacob. My eyes widened that he could do this already.

Another thing that caught my eye was that he must've been only about a few weeks old, but he looked about a year old. The bed sat back down on the ground.

The door opened up, revealing Psykos. She looked down at Jacob.

"Did you name him?" She asked.

"Jacob." I told her, simply.

"Hmm." She smiled. She sat down next to me and looked at him.

"How does he look older than he is?" I asked.

"I actually did a test on that." She started. "It turns out that the monster genes will cause him to quickly grow to around ten, then to around sixteen, then he will stay at that physical age before speeding up to about twenty before speeding up at intervals throughout his life." I nodded in understanding.

"Psykos, can I ask you something else?" I asked.

"Sure." She said.

"Did you plan on me becoming a monster the moment you met me?" I asked. I saw her happy composure disappear.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"I believe I've figured out what that machine is used for." I explained. Her eyes slightly twitched. "It's for mind control."

"How would you know that?" She asked. I stood up and looked down at her, Jacob still in my arms.

"I tried a drop on myself." I answered. "It had the exact properties of mind control." The tension between us was at an all-time high. "You mind controlled those heroes to attack me and hoped that would cause me to go against them. The heroes were missing, but I know exactly where they were. They were here the whole time." She was getting really angry. She quickly stood up and looked me right in the eye.

"What are you planning, Kazan?" She said. "What will this accomplish?"

"You said you were helping me the whole time... but you were really using me as a tool to benefit yourself." I argued. "That's why you were so unhappy when you saw me again. You realized I saw what I'm supposed to be. A hero. Not a monster. You hurt Hailey and made me betray her."

"I didn't make you betray her!" Psykos uncharacteristically yelled. "I'm not the one who initiated it. I'm not the one who wanted to fuck someone else. You made those choices yourself!" I tried my best to cover Jacob's ears during her rant. He began to whimper and slightly cry.
