"How are you doing that?" I asked Jacob. He was floating me in the air. "I thought espers couldn't attack other espers directly."

"Guess you're wrong." Jacob chuckled. "I think if you're stronger than the other esper, you can attack the directly." He then dropped me on the floor.

"So... all of the espers I've faced were just toying with me?" I was unbelievably defeated that I nearly died. "I had no chance with Tatsumaki. She must've been toying with me."

"You're an idiot." Jacob chuckled.

"Shut up." I quickly retorted. "Wait... if esper powers can affect other espers... then that must mean the woman we faced in the woods has either found a way to shield herself from esper powers or... she's more powerful than you."

"Oh, please." Jacob scoffed. "This girl wasn't stronger than me."

"The other option is less likely." I told him.

"She's not." Jacob repeated.

"You seemed to be losing the fight." I chuckled.

"I was going easy on her." Jacob responded.

"That could be true." I said. "You're much stronger than just throwing rocks and stones at people."

"I could've shredded her instantly." Jacob said.

"But you still told me you couldn't use your powers on her." I said.

"Whatever." Jacob mumbled.

"Speaking of that..." I started. "...if we can find a desolate place, I'd be fine to continue with that fight promise. I want you to get stronger, so you don't have to argue with me that someone was more powerful than you."

"When?" Jacob quickly asked.

"After we eat." I answered. Jacob quickly inhaled his food while I ate my food like a normal human being. We got our t-shirts and pants on. I wore a black shirt and black pants. Jacob wore an indigo shirt and black pants. I also slipped on my red sweatshirt. I told him to pack some water and a snack for the trip. He put some chips and bottles of water in his backpack as we left the apartment.

We began to search for a good, open space for a fight. We eventually found a large plateau far away from City A. We assumed that Tatsumaki or Fubuki would be able to sense our esper powers, so we tried to get far away from them. Jacob put the backpack next to a wall. We stood in the middle of the large, dirt clearing.

"You ready?" I asked him.

"Ready to destroy your face." Jacob answered. I groaned loudly.

"We'll need to work on your comebacks next." I said. Jacob quickly raised his hand to control me, but I quickly stopped it with a barrier. It wasn't perfect as he flung me against a wall.

I quickly shook off the impact and removed the shield. I looked up and thousands of small shards of rock were zooming towards me. I began flying through the cloud of shrapnel. A few rocks made slight cuts but nothing too major.

I reached Jacob but immediately flew backwards and slammed into the wall, no shield this time. He then dragged me along the wall for a few seconds with his powers before slamming me further into the wall. Welp. I don't think this is going to end well for me. I looked out of the hole. I was about ten meters inside the cliff. There was a bright purple light nearly blinded me from the hole. The wind was picking up quickly, and the cliff shook around me. Suddenly...

My eyes opened. My thin body shivered in the cold corner of the cell. I'd been having visions of a savior, but they were just dreams. I was sure of it. I looked at my small hand and then at the steel door hiding me away from the cold, dark hallway. I shivered through my torn shirt and wet pants. I hadn't been brought to the bathroom in a day, so I had been peeing my own pants. My muscles were too sore to even pull my pants down to pee on the floor.
