chapter 38

I was driving really fast while thinking about Mariya, it's all my fault this happened I should have listen. I looked around and my eyes widen when I saw her car. I stopped the car and got out. My heart raced when I thought about her or the baby getting hurt. I walked over to her car door and opened it. Tears filled my eyes when I saw her head leaned against the steering wheel and blood dripping from her forehead. "Mariya" I whispered. I picked her up and held her close to my chest. I quickly walked over to my car and put her inside. My heart clenched I just couldn't do it anymore, I just want this to be over and go back to the way it was. I'm staying strong for you Mariya. I got into the car and drove off to the hospital.

When I got to the hospital I got out my car and walked over to the other side. I took mariya out and quickly walked into the building. "Help please she's hurt" I shouted and the nurses walked over to me. They came over to me with one of those portable beds and I help laid her on it. They handed me a paper with a clipboard to sign up but I didn't want to do it. I just wanted to see Mariya. They carried her away and I started pacing around.

"Sir you need to calm down please answer these question" the lady at the front desk said and I shook my head.

"I want to see her make sure she's in a private room, tell me where should I go?" I asked and she sighed.

"I'm going to tell you sir please just answer these questions, so that we can know what's happening. I nodded then walked over to one of the chairs. I looked down at the paper and answered all the questions.

When I was finished I gave it to the woman and she took it. She finally told me where her room was and I nodded and ran down the hall. I wanted to see her now I couldn't wait any longer. I stopped at her door and opened it.

Mariya laid there on the bed with a gauze wrapped around her head and a small amount of blood showing. I walked over to her bed and sat down. The IV above her head and the needle in her skin I didn't like seeing her like this. I want to see her laugh and smile. What have I done? I sat down beside her and touched her hand. Her heart was slowing down and my eyes widen. I looked over at the holter monitor and it was beeping fast. "Mariya please it's me baby I'm sorry please stay with me" I cried and her heartbeat went back to normal. I took out my phone and texted mom.

Me: I'm in the hospital and mariya is hurt.

Mom: oh my god what happened?

Me: she got in a car crash and it's all my fault.

Mom: I'm on my way just make sure your location is on.

Me: yes come quick.

I placed my phone in my pocket and sighed "I'm sorry mariya it's all my fault your in the hospital I'm sorry, I'm really sorry I'm such a fool" I cried, I couldn't stop the tears they kept on coming. "I'm sorry" whispered over and over again I was waiting on the doctor to tell me what was wrong with her.

Mia sat down on the floor in her room drawing and colouring something for mommy. "Sissy" Amelia said then walked over to Mia. "Looky" she said with her hand stretched out. Melia handed the paper to Mia and she looked down at and smiled.

"You drew this for momma?" Mia asked and melia nodded then sat down. Melia clapped her hands and giggled. "Here you can put stickers on it if you want" Mia gave them to her  and she took the pack. The door flew opened and grandma came in. Mia looked up at her grandma and saw that she had a worried look on her face. "Are you okay grandma" Mia asked and Serena gave her a small smile.

"Come girls we need to get going" grandma said as she picked up melia and grabbed Mia's hand. Mia was really confused and wondered what was happened. "No no no nana" melia cried while pointing at her drawing. Grandma picked it up and hand it to her.

They left the house and walked over to the car. Grandma placed both the girls in their carseat and quickly got into the car. "Nonna where are we going" Mia asked then tilt her head to the side. Serena looked through the rearview mirror and sighed.

"We're going to look for mommy" Serena whispered and Melia screamed "mama mama!" Mia giggled then squeezed melia cheek.

"Nonno mommy said she was...... she was umm.... going to take us with her but daddy said she left and it's all his fault. He started crying and I cried because mommy left an....and melia too" Mia said all in one breath and Serena gave her a small smile. Mia was so happy that she was going to see her mommy but her little heart was going to break when she see the state that her mommy's in.

The car stopped and Mia looked up her face sadden when she saw the hospital. She grabbed her stuffy and hugged it really tight. "Grandma why are we at this place only sick people come here. You said we are going to see mommy then why are we here?" she asked then pouted. Serena said nothing she didn't know what to tell her. Serena took Mia out of her carseat and placed her down on the floor. She held melia in her arms and held on to Mia's hand "let's go" Serena whispered and Mia nodded.

Mia was confused she wanted to know what's going on and why were they going to the sick people place. They walked into the hospital and they saw the others seated in a corner. Mia ran over to them while Serena went to the front desk.

"Where is daddy?" Mia asked Isabella and she shrugged. Mia sat down beside Caterina and looked around the room. Someone cleared their throat and Mia looked up. She smiled when she saw daddy. "Daddy!" she shouted and Lorenzo picked her up and wrapped his arms around her. She pouted when she saw how sad he looks. "Daddy where is mommy?" She asked and he sighed.

"Mommy had an accident" he whispered.

"I want to see mommy daddy... I want to see her now" she said and he nodded.

"I know princess you'll see mommy soon okay" Lorenzo kissed Mia's forehead and she nodded.

The doctor came out of his office with a paper in his hand. He looked up at Lorenzo "Mr Esposito we have some bad news" he said.
