Octavia's pov

As I touched my lips, remembering the kiss Ryder and I shared a smile formed on my lips. It really happened, we really kissed. To say I was happy was an understatement, I was ecstatic. I don't remember the last time I felt so happy.

Once we made it home after that it dawned on me that I might loose my father. In that moment was it wrong of me to not care?

'No it's wrong that your dad wants to keep you from happiness' my subconscious screamed at me.

I sighed and got out of bed heading to the bathroom. Maybe a shower will help me think.

It was nearing twelve and I could hardly contain my excitement. This was really happening I was going to see Ryder again. I just hope this time we were smarter. I even took extra precautions and told my father ahead of time that I would be going to the restaurant again with Maya. Even though I had to lie and say, "We loved the food so we want to go again."

I knew it would be worth it in the end though. I even got Maya and Jake to tag along in case something goes wrong. They would be at a different table obviously but, I just hope nothing does go wrong.

"Hey girl hey." Maya said cheerfully as she walked in my house while I was descending downstairs.

"Hi Maya." I said just as cheerfully.

Maya's features seemed to soften when she looked at me and I wondered why.

"What's wrong?" I asked furrowing my eyebrows in confusion.

"Your happy, glowing, you should always glow Octavia." she said sweetly, smiling softly.

This completely touched my heart and I went to her, giving her a hug, "Thank you." I whispered.

"What's with the hugs?" my mom asked from behind me as I let go of Maya and turned around.

"Just happy." I said with an actual smile.

"I'm glad." my mom said with a knowing look in her eyes.

My mother was the only parent who knew what I was really doing at the restaurant.

"It's almost twelve you should get going you don't want to waste your time." she said giving me a sly wink, "Also hello Maya, you girls have a nice time." then she walked away.

As I opened the door I heard my dad yell something about my time limit. I was to excited to wait and listen as I ran to Jakes car. I had always envied that Jake got a car before I did, totally unfair.

"Someone's excited." Jake said as I basically threw myself in the back seat.

"Shut up." I said trying to hide my smile but, failed.

It was already twelve thirty and Ryder wasn't here. Every minute passing by felt like a stab in the heart. What if that girl was his girlfriend and he just kissed me one last time to say goodbye. Then gave me false hope that we were going to meet again. Jake and Maya came to the table I was at asking if I wanted to go but, I didn't.

'Ryder would be here, Ryder would be here.' I repeated this in my head knowing Ryder wasn't like that, until I heard the bell to the restaurant go off.

It was him and he looked panicked as he came over to me.

"Fuck I'm so sorry love I swear I didn't mean to be late my mother dropped by unexpectedly and I couldn't-" he seemed to be very frantic but, mostly genuinely sorry.

Being the girl I am though I giggled at his frantic face. This made Ryder completely stop what he was saying and stare at me with adoration. I grabbed his hands in mine as he sat down.

"Your here now." I said with a smile as I caressed his hands.

I seen how his eyes softened and he relaxed at my touch. It was nice knowing I still had an effect on him.

"I missed you so much Octavia, you have no idea." he started to say while we stared into each other's eyes.

Looking into his eyes I could tell he was telling the truth. I just really needed to know who that girl was, I just didn't want to seem jealous.

"I missed you too Ryder." I said genuinely with a smile of my own.

"Hello may I take your orders?" a boy around my age asked politely with a smile, he seemed to be the waiter.

I let go of Ryder's hand as I looked at the waiter and then back at my menu. After we told the waiter our orders, Ryder looked mad.

"What's wrong?" I asked with concern and confusion as the waiter left.

"You don't know?" he asked sarcastically.

I shook my head no and he scoffed.

"He was staring at you the whole time and he touched your hand for longer then needed when you handed him your menu." he spoke with nothing but, pure jealousy.

I could only smile at this because, for one he still had his possessive nature over me and second I had no idea the waiter did all of that. Which only proves to me, that Ryder is really the only guy I could ever feel for like this.

"Now your smiling." he said while rolling his eyes then crossing his arms, he looked like a little kid.

It was cute, it made me quickly put my hand on his forearm, caressing it.

"Calm down, I didn't even know he was flirting with me or I would have said something I really wasn't paying attention to him." I said truthfully while staring in his eyes.

"You really weren't paying attention to him?" he asked bewildered, like it was impossible not too. Then he uncrossed his arms and held my hand.

"No because, the guy that I want to pay attention to is sitting across from me." I said with a small laugh.

I seen him sigh then grin, "I'm sorry I just-" he says starting to explain himself.

"I know Ryder." I said softly cutting him off knowingly as I already knew he was possessive he didn't need to explain himself to me.

We stared at each other in silence for what seemed like forever.

"I love you."

Just like that the silence was broken.
