Harry and I spend the rest of the day in bed together. We get up only for food and bathroom breaks. I have never been a person who enjoys lying in bed all day. I prefer to be active and moving but I think I could get used to it if Harry was there with me. When he gets up to use the washroom, I grab my guitar from the galley and start playing it softly. Harry comes out and his eyes are wide with surprise. He doesn't say anything though and just sits down close to me, listening intently.

As soon as I stop, Harry asks, "Tricky with the arm, hey?"

As soon as I stop, Harry asks, "Tricky with the arm, hey?"

"Yeah. I'll get the hang of it."

"You started playing again. Why?"

"When you left, I had a lot of things I wanted to get off my chest that I never got to say to you. Music seemed like the right outlet."

"What kind of things?"

"It felt like I was living in the dark for the past three months and you came, and you shone a light on me. And when I wasn't ready to climb out of the darkness just yet, you sat, and waited with me. I had twenty-five really amazing years with my parents, and it was time to honour them by living my life. To go out and have adventures. To embrace change. To be brave by taking a chance and giving my heart to someone, not knowing what the outcome would be."

He leans forward and kisses my lips gently, after holding my face with our foreheads pressed together.

"I love you Maggie."

"I love you Harry."

We take turns playing for the rest of the evening. Bouncing ideas off of each other. It feels good to have someone who understands and is as passionate about music as I am.

"I've never written songs this way before."

"What way?"

"With someone else."

"I've only written songs this way. I've never really been on my own to write. I mean, yes I'll bring song ideas to the table that I've been working on, but they always get finished with the help of others."

"What do you like the best, writing or performing?"

"I used to say performing, but after writing my last album I really enjoyed that whole process. When I was in the band, the entire writing process was so rushed. We were getting off stage and immediately writing and recording. It just wasn't super enjoyable. I think you sometimes need time to sit with a song, you know?"

I nod back at him.

"What was your best memory from that time?"

"Oh, that's tough. I got to experience so many things that I'll probably never get to do again. But I think the fans were incredible. They continuously shocked me with their devotion."
