It was late when we got back to my place after dropping the Aston Martin off. I watched Harry whisper good-bye to the car, giving it a little pat on the hood as he walked away. We ended up just eating cereal and watching a movie. That night Harry explored my body as if he was trying to memorize every inch of it before he left. The next morning, we woke up and showered together before we got in my car so I could drive him to the airport.

I hate good-byes. Even if they're temporary. I could already feel myself getting teary on the drive. Harry reached over and squeezed my thigh as I drove and this almost made it worse, thinking about how long it would be before he could do that again.

I pulled up to the curb-side drop-off.

"Darling, it won't be long. I'll see you very soon."

"I know," I say sniffling.

"I'll call you as soon as I land."

"Okay," more sniffles.

"Babe, you make it really hard to leave you."

"I hope so," I finally crack a smile, and he smiles back like he just won the lottery.

"I love you."

"I love you."

He presses his lips to mine, and I open my mouth slightly to deepen the kiss. Letting our tongues express all the distress we feel at having to part from one another, even if only for a few short days.

He pulls away and places one hand on my face, rubbing his thumb on my cheek.

"I'll see you soon love."

And I nod back, because that's all I'm capable of.

He exits the vehicle, taking his duffle bag with him and closing the door. Waving back at me. I watch him walk into the building, looking back at me once to give me a quick smile before disappearing.

I manage to hold it together enough to make it home. I have so much to accomplish in the next few days so I can get to Harry so I'm very motivated to get it all done as quickly as possible. Today I meet with the lawyers to resolve any remaining matters of my parents' estate.

Luckily the meeting goes smoothly and because I'm the sole heir and there are no other living relatives no one has contested anything. I sign some paperwork and I'm out the door to head to the Wilson Group to meet with the board. On my way there, I receive a call and I answer it with my Bluetooth.

"Hello, Maggie Wilson speaking."

"Hi Maggie. It's Linda." My mom and dad's secretary.

"Hi Linda!"

"Maggie, unfortunately we are going to have to reschedule the meeting. Several board members have come down with the stomach flu."

"Oh no!" To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. I was wanting to get this squared away before I left.

"I'll keep you updated when everyone is feeling better."

"Okay, thanks Linda."

"You're welcome, Maggie."

I pull my car over to decide what I'm going to do next. Suddenly a great idea springs to mind and I make my way over to my parents' place on the water, making a phone call on the way.

By the late afternoon I have completed almost everything on my to-do list and I'm back at my house. I hear my phone ringing from the other room, and I run over to quickly answer it, thinking Harry must have finally landed.

"Hey!"

"Maggie! You answered."

It's my ex. Why is he calling? I thought I made it pretty clear how I felt about him the last time we spoke.
