Harry's POV

I instinctively push Maggie behind me, shielding her with my body from the gun.

"What are you doing here Tim?" she says from behind me.

"The same thing I've wanted since the beginning of our relationship Maggie: money."

"You've already been arrested once for this, what makes you think you're going to get away with it now?" I say.

"Because I know Maggie. I know she won't want those pictures out there. She'll do anything to not ruin her parent's legacy."

"There's no way I can get you money now. My accounts are all being monitored," Maggie says.

"You and I both know your parents must have a safe in this house. A safe that probably has cash and jewelry in it."

Maggie doesn't say anything but nods at him.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Lead the way!" and he gives her an evil grin.

The three of us walk back out towards the kitchen. Maggie is in front, me following her, and Tim behind me. I know he's there because he keeps jamming the gun into my back, not letting me forget he has it. Maggie heads to her dad's office. She is surprisingly calm for what is happening.

She walks behind the desk and I follow her back there. She holds onto the front of the desk as if she needs it for balance, fumbling her fingers under it. It's the first sign she has given that this is affecting her. She kneels next to the desk and the last drawer isn't a drawer at all but a door with a safe behind it. She starts punching in buttons and I look up at Tim watching us impatiently. The keypad beeps as she presses the buttons. When she's done it does a series of three beeps.

She doesn't say anything and starts again.

"What's the problem?" Tim asks.

"It wasn't the code that I thought it was," she says as she continues to press numbers.

"You're telling me you haven't opened this safe since your parents died?"

"I haven't opened this safe ever," she says back.

"Well you better get it open today, Maggie, or we're going to have a problem."

Maggie continues to press buttons and she is met with another three beeps signifying another unsuccessful attempt. She sighs.

"Maybe you need some motivation," and Tim grabs me by the arm, pulling me towards him roughly with the gun to my temple.

Maggie looks up, panic all over her face.

"I'm trying! I thought it was their anniversary. Then I thought my mom's birthday. But it's not working!" she says clearly frustrated.

I have to get us out of this situation. I have to protect her. I can't let this vile piece of garbage hurt her. I look around the room for anything that I could use as a weapon. It's hard to think when I have a gun pushed to my temple though.

The safe beeps three times again and Maggie starts crying, clearly frustrated with herself.

"You're stalling! No one's coming to help you. You left your bedroom door open and the security only gets tripped when you close your doors."

He pulls me towards him and before I can protect myself he has swung the gun and hit me across the side of the face with it. I can taste the blood in my mouth and my vision blurs momentarily. Maggie cries out, "NO!"

"Don't act stupid Maggie! You and I both know that it's your birthday. You were everything to them. Too bad you're such a disappointment to them now. Just being some pop singer's groupie. Getting naked in hot tubs like some trashy girl."
