Arthur and you had met at the store.

He was standing in the fishing isle, and you were just passing by when your eyes met. You'd only seen him once, but you knew he was someone special.

You were right, within weeks of talking more and more good things happened. He took you to places you had never been before, like the woods, and to the pond, where you caught your first bluegill.

You had taken him places he had never seen, like the grand cinema, or the huge casino you worked in.

Arthur was the type of man to avoid big cities, he lived just outside of the city you lived in. You were rather rich, your family had passed down a lovely house and lots of money for years and years, it just so happened to land on you this time.

Arthur never understood the joys of partying or wondering a busy city, he was much more of the, laid back, quiet, country type.

Your type.

One afternoon you had called Arthur and decided to meet up at the local bakery.

Arthur mentioned once that he had never tried a crumpet. You wee so shocked, and since they were your favorite thing to buy there, you had to make sure he tried one.

When you walked around the corner to meet him, you saw that he was already there, with a small rose in hand. Smiling you walked up behind him quietly, in an attempt to scare him.

"Boo!!" you yelled, jumping towards Arthur.

Arthur chuckled, nice try, what would this make now? At least ten failed attempts" He teased.

"Oh hush you!" you laughed, nudging his arm.

"Oh before I forget, here" Arthur handed you the small rose. They were your favorite flowers and the fact that he had remembered melted your heart.

"Oh! This is so sweet, thank you so much" You smiled happily, taking in the beautiful sweet scent of the petals.

Arthur and you walked inside the bakery and you couldn't help but take in the fresh smell of baked goods. Arthur was doing the same, his eyes were closed and his head was high.

"Smells lovely doesn't it?" you chuckled.

"Yes, this is amazing!" Arthur said, giddy.

"So lets take a seat shall we?" you gestured to the two person table by the window. That seat was your favorite, as you could watch the busy streets while writing.

"This really is wonderful, thank you y/n" Arthur spoke as he sat down. His eyes were dashing all over the room, first at the fancy people, then at all the wonderful looking pastries, then back to you.

Your face turned red, he had caught you staring at him. How could you not stare at him though? He was really something else.

"Hello! My name is Jess and I'll be taking care of you today"

The waitresses here were always so happy. Another reason you liked this place.

"Hello, yes I would like some lemon tea" you spoke politely.

"alright! and for you sir?"

Arthur just sat there, a little puzzled and very overwhelmed.

"Uhm I-" he stuttered, Arthurs face turned a crimson red.

You couldn't help but grin, he was so cute.

"He will have the crumpet and tea" you said.

"Okay! ill be right back with those" and with that, Jess scurried off.

"Sorry about that y/n, as you can see I'm not a people person- unless its you of course!" He quickly corrected himself.

"Arthur its alright really, you're fine!" you assured him.

A few more minutes passed and Jess had returned with your order.

"Here you go!" she exclaimed as she sat down the plate and cups.

"Thank you" you smiled.

You noticed Arthur studying his crumpet very closely. His eyes looking over every inch, probably making sure it was even edible. After all they had them decorated so pretty.

"Arthur just take a bite" you finally spoke.

He did as you said, his first bite was small, but soon he was shoveling it into his mouth.

"Good huh?" you laughed.

Arthur chuckled shyly, there was a few crumbs on his cheek.

You reached across the table to brush them off. Arthurs face turned a bright red.

"So uh- That was wonderful!" he said happily.

"Im glad you enjoyed" you smiled, sipping your tea.

Arthur looked at you, then back at the waitress, then back as you once more before raising his hand.

Jess came over as called and Arthur ordered not one not two but three more.

You smiled and thought to yourself

Were going to be here for a while.
