After about a week into school I started to get used to the way things worked in New York. Even though it's no Sea City, I was starting to like it here. There is one bad thing though, I haven't seen Anthony's face in a long time. We haven't even texted or called. Every time I tried he was too busy.

I was standing outside the school when Josh came up to me.

"Hey Maggie! How you doing?"

"I'm fine."

He looked at me up and down.

"Are you sure?"

"I'm just... just a little homesick I guess. I haven't seen my friend Anthony in so long and..."

   I took a deep breath.

"And what?"

"and I feel like we're starting to drift apart. He hasn't talked to me in a while and he's always hanging out with his new friends."

"Well, why don't you just call him?"

"I tried, but he was at soccer practice."

"Well, then just text him."

"No response."

"Well...."

He looked as if he had just struck gold.

"Why don't you go back to see him for a weekend, no, a week?"

I was in shock. Why didn't I think of that?

"Yes! That's perfect! I'll ask my mom later."

"Why not just text her?"

"Oh, yeah."

I giggled because, for a moment, I forgot about texting.

"Wow she already responded to me! She said..."

   My face fell.

"What?"

"She said that she doesn't have enough money AND we wouldn't have a place to sleep since we sold our beach house."

"I'm sorry Maggie, I should've said... wait,"

"What?"

"What if I took you down? I can afford it. Plus, it'd be fun to see where you used to live."

"That's a good idea, but where would we sleep?"

"Hmm, oh! Ask your friend if we can stay at his place."

"Okay, I'll try to text him."

To my surprise, he answered almost immediately.

"He said that he would love for me to come back for a week!"

I let out a scream of joy.

"That's awesome Maggie! I'll take you after school."

"Wait!"

"What?"

"I didn't ask my mom yet. I mean, if I could go with you."

"Well ask her."

I texted my mom and in about 5 minutes she gave me a response.

"She said yes!"

   I screamed again.

"That's great! Do you want to leave tonight?"

"Sure, but give me like 2 hours so I can pack."

"Okay. I'll have to pack anyway too."

"This is going to be so fun!"

Around 5:30, Josh pulled up to my apartment building and waited for me to get in. Once I was in the car, we started our 4 1/2 hour drive to Sea City, and I just couldn't wait to get there.
